Re: New Aldebaran MGL?

I just don't think BFS is very popular in the U.S. but im guessing it's big in Japan? or at least I hope it is. The normal Aldebaran MGL already throws baits down to an 1/8th oz very well and can handle up to a 1/2oz+ extremely well also so there's a big range there but the BFS is pretty limited. I ...

New Aldebaran MGL?

Any info if Shimano is making a new Alde MGL anytime soon? the last model is a 2018 so I feel like it's gotta be coming especially after they just came out with the bfs version. I want to buy one but would hate to buy one right before the new model comes out. Also what's the deal with the 30 size Hi...

Diawa morethan pe tw, Bantam MGL questions

Im buying a combo for very skinny water. Will be using moving baits buzzbaits, spinnerbaits, wakebaits etc. Accuracy is everything and im going with an extra short rod Loomis imx pro 6ft MH. I was just going to go with the Bantam since its one of the few high end shimano reels ive never used and ive...

Im looking for slightly bigger/better grips for my stock steez sv 1012 handle. What do you guys recommend? SLPW I-shape cork? Are they shipped in pairs from digitaka or is it 20$ per one. Also ive never really modified my reels whats the best way to take the stock grips off? Just pop the end caps of...

Re: STEEZ SV TW 1012SV-XH

Thanks for the info. Eventually I might have to get them all. Im pretty set on getting the SV TW just because a 5.6oz reel feels so good on a conquest and think the high speed version with the 90mm handle will get the job done very well from what ive read for whopper plopper 90s, poppers and walking...

Re: STEEZ SV TW 1012SV-XH

Its tough its such an expensive reel. Ive been dong as much research on them as possible the last couple weeks. Everyone seems to have different opinions. Some say get the SV TW its amazing, others say get the Steez A its a better option and others say just stick with the Mets lol. My main purpose w...

Re: STEEZ SV TW 1012SV-XH

Thanks for the responses. The JDM SV TW in the 8.1.1 gear ratio has a smaller 1012 spool and all the other models including the US model has the bigger 1016 spool correct? Are the only differences in the Steez A and the Steez SV TW the aluminum/magnesium frame and the sv spool? Are the internals/gea...

STEEZ SV TW 1012SV-XH

Im a Shimano guy but have always wanted to try a Steez but my knowledge on them isn't great. Is this more of a bottom contact/finese reel? Or is it good for moving baits like lures in that 1/4oz to 3/4oz range like whopper plopper 90s, chatterbaits, wake baits etc. Right now im using Met MGLs and th...

Re: Aldebaran 50 mgl to the US, xg model maybe?

Aldebaran 50 mgl XG = MY dream reel. The 50 is already one of my favorite reels ever just wish they had it in an XG ratio. Im hoping they release it at Icast this year.

Re: Chronarch or Steez?

Thanks for the reply's. I think im going with a JDM Chronarch MGL. I thought about getting the Met instead but I like the brass gears in the Chronarch for moving baits. Seems like you can't go wrong with either but the Met seems like a better reel for bottom contact baits? For me Shimano has always ...

Re: Chronarch or Steez?

The new Bantam looks awesome but yeah with all the light reels these days it's hard to use any that weigh over 7oz. The new Lew's Pro-Ti looks like it could be legit but going to have to wait a little bit for that reel.

Re: Chronarch or Steez?

Doesn't the Steez SV 103xs in the 8.1 also have brass gears? The 6.3 has aluminum gears. Im not talking cranking, im talking fast moving baits whopper ploppers, buzzbaits etc.

Chronarch or Steez?

I use mostly Shimano reels and thinking about trying Diawa. What reel would you rather have. Chronarch MGL XG or STEEZ SV 103XS. Mostly for moving baits and nothing under 1/4oz. I know what I get with Shimano. How good is a steez sv? Thanks
