Re: Getting back into BFS

I've got a Curado 70 with HH BFS Air bearings - 6lb Sunline and it casts 2gr comfortably... No need for DIY spools etc.

Bassday Sugar Minnows. And the finish on them is excellent. Ive got quiet a few in my BFS assortment. Where do you buy the sugar minnows? Not sure what's available to you but online would be a good start - being such a light lure and no-one knowing what to use them for my local was discontinuing th...

Re: Spool Storage-Baitcast

I used these from garden hose packaging. Little bit of foam at the tip to stop the sideways slop. At the bottom where the spool weights are there is a lifted circular collar which keeps the end of the spool off the bottom of the jar. Extremely durable plastic and that push down lid is super secure! ...

Re: Curado I Grinding Problem

It's as if almost the washers are punched and installed directly to the reels themselves.

With carbontex you got to dust the washer before installation to rid it of any excess or swarf.

Curado DC rubbing sound

I just picked up a well priced second hander for myself, the seller honestly pointed out that it "may need a service" however I noted that the handle / drag knob was improperly assembled with parts where they shouldn't be - drag knob tension spring and (()) washers improperly seated as (((...

Re: Curado G

Here's a secret trick I learned today from a reel tech at a shimano factory authorized service center. The tech took out the spool, grabbed it his hand, and on a hard counter top firmly pressed on the ends of each of the vbs pins. He replaced the spool and the noise was gone. He said he has seen th...

Re: Stella 2500 FE Knob Replacement

I have two 2500 FE's and both T knobs were swapped out for more finger friendly knobs. One a Yumea cork and the other Livre Titanium knob.

Not sure what standard knob you were using or trying to apply?

I have a Sustain 2500 FG knob spare that would definitely fit, just not fit in visually...

Re: Best grease and oil for servicing reels. 2019 edition.

Best to colour said pressure plate washer black with a sharpie and start light lapping to see where the major high spots are first. I work up the line with grades of sandpaper up till 2000 - stainless becomes like a mirror. It certainly does help with carbontex washers! Just don't do this process wi...
