Re: Shimano I-DC5 Unit

Ahh because there is a blue stamp inside my SLX XT too - it just washed off as I did the pre-service.

Tamper stamp?

You find them in certain places - manufacturers use them very well to deny warranty etc...

Re: Over 40 with a child Under 6 Months

Thanks mate. Less thinking and more of just let things happen. Things have a way of working out... Nothing like coming home after working the weekend shift, dealing with crap all day - sit on the couch, pick up the goofy smiling boy, 2 proud bottom teeth, dribbling madly and he just thinks your the ...

Re: Shimano reel names

Isn't that why companies employ test groups for their products before releasing, to make sure their products don't bomb?

Re: Shimano reel names

You'll see the old names come back. Sort of recyclable business plan, its happened already. Eventually we saw "aldebaran," and that is goofy as all get out. Not bad, but no one ever came up to me and said, "I got the new aldeblaberaana." Alderbaran is a Islamic / Arabic word / name for a star in the...

Re: Over 40 with a child Under 6 Months

The wife and I left it a bit late... We've been together for 12 years, she's 4 years older than me - some say she stole from the cradle but I like to think I robbed the grave... We lost our first child during pregnancy at 15 weeks... Took a great hit on us both... However 6 months or so later we had...

Re: Super Thin Washers in ABU Handles

If you need to thin them - wet and dry sand paper and put them on with water and do figure 8 sanding passes.

Somethimes you need to take that ever so slight bit off.

True, don't remember so many people hating on a reel as much as they did Caenan/Curado G. Bet Shimano wishes they could take that one back
Am I the only one that loved the Curado G? I've got a 120mm handle on it, egg Eva knobs, PG gears and just adore it...

This thing is really called a tatulion?
Bastardised "Tatula" / "Zillion" = "Tatulion"

You can just see the meeting with the marketing guy at the head of the table... "so we're all in agreement"...

Got it, not a mark on it, clean cork, both rod wraps, and bag and all paperwork. Man I wish we got a chance to get these in Australia for a decent price... Build quality is beyond expectation. It's like they swept up all the spare parts off the floor and made a reel.
Before it's made - they're collected in a "parts bin" first.

Its the old 70 from 2015 with different colors, deep MGL spool and MM gears.
So you noticed similarities too...
