Re: Does the Curado K or DC have an aluminum gear options

Just chuck a Met main gear in. That'll take 11 odd grams out.

Re: Coronavirus "Covid-19"

It's getting a bit too real here... We're isolated as a country and now borders are being shut between the states and they're closing down "non essential" workplaces and industry... Who'd have thought on 01012020 when my son was born that this would have happened just a month later... This is going ...

Re: spool weights

Durability?

I guess they have a fine line between weight savings and warranty issues with muppets putting on 50lb nylon etc so tightly that they will ultimately distort.

You get people talking about weird noises on their reels and spools rubbing intermittently.

Carbon washers. Not a fan of anodised against carbon.

Re: **Something picked up in Kuaui**

There's a few beaches in Alaska way up there in the Bering Sea and the beaches are supposedly covered in floatsom and these antique glass Japanese net floats.

Very collectable supposedly. My neighbour had* quiet a few hanging from his house at one stage.

in the garbage and get a prox zip tie
Likewise. The O rings perished, went and got silicone O ri gs and they stretched and got all loose and lost a couple so off they went.

Never looked back on the mountable zip tie solution - had to import from the US a while back as no-one stocks them in Aus.

Metanium MGL + Curado K brass MM gear swap

We firstly don't get these Metanium's here in Australia so when one popped up with a Japanese gent offering it for a price slightly more than a second hand Curado K you naturally jump on it pretty damn fast! I've tried looking for pictures of the process but couldn't find much so hope it helps someo...

These came in the box with the Metanium MGL I bought today... Just order a load of these from Shimano if available?

Re: Buying Reel On Ebay From Japan

Typically as outlined as above is correct. Definitely message them to pack it well for the trip also, my Bantam MGL came from Japan in 3 days to Aus via DHL and the outer box was trashed! But if your buying used by god some of them can be a nightmare... Sight unseen type nightmare! Buy new if you ca...

Re: Calcutta 50XT BFS Spool

Give it a shot... Its more to do with the cast supposedly. I was casting these, weigh in at 1.4gr. IMG_20200308_071318.jpg I've got a little Versus box and everything for BFS is 4gr or less. My Majorcraft Volkey BFS could do with a downgrade, especially now with all these lightweight BFS rods availa...

Re: Alternatives to Carl's Drag Grease for BFS?

Run a super light grease on them. It acts both wet and dry at the same time. Not like you'll be giving any real drag pressures with 2lb.
