Re: Where have all the Full handle Rods Gone

Can you turn a split grip into a full grip? It's possible, but takes some time and work. You need to remove all stuff from butt to reelseat. Blank is much thicker in the end part that near reelseat so you need to ream cork/eva/etc hole quite much and then need to fill gap between blank and cork wit...

Got my PB with exactly same lure 117cm/11,6kg.

Re: Where have all the Full handle Rods Gone

edit: don't get me started on the EVA foam craze either. ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) What's wrong with EVA? I admit some are better than others, but for the most part foam grips are light, durable, inexpensive, there's no filler to fall out, it provides a good grip even when it's wet or col...

Re: Daiwa Z: Times Have Changed

I'm using it for pike fishing with lures 30-200g. Havent even tried it with "lighter" rod than 7'10' up to 3oz swimbait rod.

I like it. Very much. Much more power than Curado 200E have.

Re: Sensitivity

Many things affects on sensitivity. Most is blank, then grip material and then guides. I use only titanium guides. Mostly AT ti-forged due price compared to Fuji Torzite. I've built K2, couple Croix SCV's, many NFC HM, couple NFC HM X-Rays, new Bushido HM etc.. At the moment most sensitive rod i've ...

I'm just sick of the anodized red on Daiwa and Shimano reels...
Probably a good thing I'm photo sharing challenged here on TT, you'd puke seeing all the red parts on my Daiwas! :big grin:
Red and black is best combo. Here's my Bushido without guides yet.

Re: Daiwa reels - gaudy or sexy?

I've noticed a lot of people here seem to reeeeally like Daiwa reels, but I haven't yet pieced together all of the reasons why. Despite some reels seeming to be excellent performers, I can't get over how flashy some of them are. I would be pretty interested in some Daiwa reels if they didn't have a...

Re: Building the Ultimate BFS Rod

CFX carbon grips are perfect for lightest builds. I use those butt grips as rear grip also. Here's my lightest rod atm. It's built with CFX grips and Rodcraft skeleton seat. Blank is modified Bushido CB68/6-12 cut donw to 6'- Rod weights 65g (2,3oz). Cast nicely 3-15g. https://i.imgur.com/ctHQTds.jpg

Re: MicroWave Guides Casting Distance

So I've been wondering about these American Tackle Microwave Guides. Has anyone used them before, and do they actually increase casting distance? I'm skeptical because the outer ring of the stripper guide seems like it reduces distance as it creates more friction. OH yes, I've built several rods wi...
