Re: 2015 Aldebaren BFS XG limited/ Kirasme F3-65XK

Awesome combo! I was going to ask info on the rod then i realized its a mega bass! Waaaaaaay out of my price range! lol! I have used mine on a volkey bfs and a fine tail. Matches and performs with both extremely well. When you say Ian tuned? What does that entail? Just aftermarket parts installed or...

Re: Field & Stream Kayaks

Ive been fishing out of my ws 120 for over 10 years. I bought it used before all the "angler" kayaks were out. Its a tank! handles r still there along with paddle keepers and its 15 to 20lbs lighter than most 12 footers available now! Seat sucks but even cheapo new angling yaks have better seats now...

Re: New river 2015

Excellent choice in tackle and rivers! I absolutely love fishing the New River. Spot on review of the Aldebaran bfs xg limited. How many brakes do you typically have on? I started with 4 on because i always used my cq51s with 2, but I was struggling a lil so I activated 2 more. I may have over fill...

Re: New river 2015

Nice fish and gear, that's a great reel :big grin: Ive been fishing with a presso and a conquest for almost ten years. I thought about upgrading them with spools and handles but by the time I got everything i needed it was more than a new reel so well.....;) I only had the money from selling a stra...

Re: New river 2015

Thanks guys! I love it down there! Sooooo much good water just on the new then there's the greenbriar too, not to mention the countless feeder creeks! I wouldn't mind living down there at all, but don't think i could keep a full time job with all those smallies swimming around with unripped lips! ;)

New river 2015

Just returned from the New River. I had recently acquired a Alderbran bfs xg limited and put it to the test! Great reel! Took a while to get used to but i love it. The drag is straight butter! Camped in the bluestone management area for a week and slang tubes daily. Average size was better than year...

Re: Major Craft Fine Tail baitcast rods

Jrob! Really interested in a comparison of your reels. I had a chance to put my hands on a ss air and wow! bfs has come a long way since i first acquired my presso and cq 51s! The SS air made my presso feel like junk. I have a 5'4" Finetail and love it! One hand effortless casting all day with tiny ...

Finetail B542UL

Finally received the replacement half for my finetail! I ordered it the same time as the volkey but it was broke on arrival. Thing is i didn't even fully unpack it for a couple days cuz, well they're were smallmouth to catch! ;) When i did the tip guide and bout an inch of rod hit the floor. I thoug...

Re: Show off your BFS Casting Reels

Ive had deez guys for going on 10 years or so. They have both have been super fun! They both have took some shots (along with me) and kept on ticking!

The presso has been my work horse and has way more trips to the river than the 51s.

Daiwa Presso
Shimano Conquest 51s
OG BFS!

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

Nice fish! MTBF! Your pics got me psyched! Going to the mountains tomorrow for some trout fishing. Our trout are stocked but they still pull hard and jump! I have a stradic 1000faml and a 2500! Nice reels for sure. Smooth action and great drags. Some of my buddies cheaper reels out cast them though!...

Re: Volkey BFS vs Musky

You aint kidding! I was standing on the wing dam when i hooked him. The wing dam is at the end of an old dam that spans the river. it put me about 5 feet off the water. Hooked him in a dead spot in turbulent water nearer the main dam. Pulled hard and bulldogn dwn making me think it was a flathead. I...

Volkey BFS vs Musky

Volkey ul652ul daiwa presso and 6lb fc. Might of went 37 definitely over 35. I was excited and forgot to measure him! Held him up to the rod. I wanted to get em back in the water fast! Pretty tough battle! 6 or so mins of bulldog n and runs by dwned brush and a wing dam! Tail walked a lil too! No le...

Re: First day with Volkey BFS

I have a spinning setup for mini jigs too! A stradic 1000faml and a ul 6' st croix panfish series. I can barley cast a 1/16th ounce atomic tube with cq51s and spinomatic. Get bout 20 to 25 feet (safely). When u get that light definitely have to make smooth deliberate motions on ur cast! Accuracy not...
