Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods

Did loomis come through for us on balance with the 904? I've wanted a 904 mbr glx for a long time, and I'll shell out for a conquest if the balance is there.

Re: St. Croix legend glass

I was just looking at these again myself. I need a squarebill rod, and am having a hard time. Loomis not releasing a new glx cranker at Icast put a wrinkle in my plans.

Re: New GLX casting rod reel seats

I started a thread about this a while back. The new seat just seemed shorter...or more compact if you will. I'm used to it now; I just roll with two fingers behind the trigger instead of just one. Sold my two old 844's to swap for '16's to keep my lineup congruent.

Nice to see another brother wrap his cork, even though I'm a rod
wrap man. Your tdz makes me wish I'd finished mine.

Re: St. Croix vs Loomis: stirring the pot

Sensitivity is extremely subjective. I have a Loomis SJR 782 IMX and a SJR 782 GL3 and the GL3 is more sensitive to me and I have a $100 Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth that feels a lot more sensitive than both of those. I believe it has to do with how it is held which is directly related to the reel...

Re: Rod sensitivity subjective?

Blank sensitivity is about as subjective as car engines were before the dyno; We simply had no way to measure them, regardless of what our hands told us. This is an entirely measurable stat.

New glx reel seat

Has nobody noticed the new glx reel seat has shrank? I was confused at first until I realized the dynamics . The seat didn't shrink; the trigger enlarged as my photo shows. My ring finger is a little cramped palming the reel (glx843 top..843nrx bottom). http://i629.photobucket.com/albums/uu15/prattl...

Re: St. Croix vs Loomis: stirring the pot

Had green and brown blanked old elites....neither were as sensitive as my old glx's at the time I perceived. I'm surprised croix hasn't launched a proprietary reel seat like others.

Re: NRX refresh ?

Someone posted this on another forum in a thread not directly on the topic... Wait until ICAST this yr when Loomis brings out this rod that's gonna top the NRX in weight and sensitivity. Woops did I just say that? Any thoughts on this? I saw this post, and took it with a grain of salt. I know that ...

Re: Now that time has passed, opinions on recoil guides

After owning 3 bcr's...I would have told you REC's didn't bother me. However, finally taking out my 843 nrx I purchased s few months ago, I think I'm ready to say they truly are designed for baits without any resistance. I've been a long time user of the 843 glx for spinnerbsits, and to try out my n...
