Re: Loomis IMX Pro 7'2" MH Deep Flex 864 CBR or 845CBR cranking rod

I'm looking at that 4 power deep flex as well. I had the old original cbr845 and I thought it was mediocre. I've also convinced myself I need the 903....really excited about that one.

Re: Abu Garcia WTF's

I know you aren't ripping on the company that brought us the lightning rod and power worm  . Seriously though...pure fishing and their on-staff scientists have the money and resources to dominate a reel or rod market if they chose to do so. No? They just need to mail out some dvd's in lieu ...

Re: Steez SV (non TW)

Is this reel being discontinued? I noticed tw doesn't list them anymore. Not certain but it looks that way. I picked a new one up recently for a little over $250. Hell of a deal on a sweet reel. Yeah...just picked up a new 6.3 for $270 shipped on the bay. Pretty pumped to score a few more for cheap...

Re: What do you daiwa guys use to bomb lures?

The sv is for control and the hlc's aren't popular. Who says the HLC's aren't popular. :D My Zillion HLC and Crazy Crank with HLC spool are the bomb. I just don't see many of them, but this thread taught me that several folks are running the spools. I'm going to give the hlc a try....the dollar is ...

What do you daiwa guys use to bomb lures?

I'm mostly a daiwa guy these days. So what reel are you guys using when distance matters? The sv is for control and the hlc's aren't popular. I say this even though yesterday I fished from 9am till dark and my zillion sv tw's were really holding their own with a 1/2oz spinnerbait and trap. However, ...

Re: Cleaning Rods

I use rod wrap. I'll fish straight cork when I find a way to clean it without the cork filler coming out and making my handles look old and dehydrated. U40 seals it, but changes the appearance and feel. I scotch-guarded my expensive leather bomber in the 90's and regretted it.

Re: G. Loomis GLX Casting Rod 7' Heavy 844C MBR

10 years ago I had a deck full of 844's but in 2017 I think better options exist for both c-rigs and frogs. To your question, the old model could do both and I used it for both. I assume the new model with same ratings could do the same. I did as well. Actually it was half 844's and half 843's. I f...

Re: Lucky craft bds 2

The bagley b2 is definitely in my top 5 of fat squarebills. It seems most manufacturers go for a wide or rolling action in their bulbous baits, but the b2 and bds2 have a tighter shimmy that just gets bit.

Looks alright, but I think megabass could put treble hooks on a dingleberry and this forum would get excited  .

Zoom Tapp. It may shine in prespawn, but it really is killer all the time.

Lucky craft bds 2

Good lord they are trying to get old wiggle wart money for these. I scored some on ebay 2 years ago, but they were just full retail. My experience with this bait, and a lack of finding something similsr... I'd pay $30...but not $80. https://www.ebay.com/itm/LUCKY-CRAFT-Fat-CB-BDS2/232725824359?hash=...
