Re: Daiwa Spinning are question...

Thank you, Mak, for the clarification. And this is a better solution than the deeper but not larger spool in the 3000 Shimano uses (or have they changed?).

It's definitely a Yozuri. Since it's over 10 years old, it's not exactly easy to find now...

Re: Daiwa Spinning are question...

I have noticed that the Certate lineup has two different 3000 models the LT3000-CXH and the LT3000-XH. The CXH is .5 ounces lighter, but it seems that other specs are the same. Aside from weight, what’s the difference between the two? It has something to do with the size of the reel body itself. I ...

Daiwa Tatula 701MRB is the finest jerkbait rod IMO.

Perfect action, have caught tons of fish on a 110+1 on it.
That is a seriously versatile rod for baits with treble hooks! Inexpensive, comfortable, and decently sensitive.

Yes sir. On the lead/plastic side 901, 902, 872 and DSR

I do a lot of winter fishing for consolidated river fish and lean on the 821 NRR for that along with the DSR.
Thank you very much for the info.

Re: Daiwa J-Fluoro Samurai Fluorocarbon

I had some 20# hidden spooled up on my Bantam MGL A--it behaves well, casts well...but boy did I break off a lot in the riprap. I have never broken off so many times before--I'm not really sure what the deal is. I've used P-Line, P-Line Halo, Seaguar InvizX, Trilene 100%, Sunline FC Sniper and neve...

What are your favorite blanks for BFS?

I'm looking to have a custom BFS rod built to pair with either a Gekkabijin or Steez CT. This rod will mostly be used for bass in single-hook applications. I'll be fishing mainly for smallmouth on local rivers, but there are occasional pike along with largemouth and stocker trout to be had as well (...

Re: History behind the low profile casting reel...

I bought the Shimano-made BB-1 back in ‘77 or ‘78 when I was a high school student. It really was a quantum leap. I *may* still own that reel, but one way or another it was lost in the shuffle of a series of moves (is there a box somewhere around here that I haven't opened for 25 years?). In any cas...

Re: Loomis IMX Pro SJR 901

For what it’s worth I lip hundreds of river smallmouth a year on the 901 NRX+. I’ve had it in rotation since the pre plus days. It’s one of the 4 must have Loomis smallmouth spins in my hands. Based on your response to my earlier post, I know that one of the others is the 872S. What are your other ...

Re: Good Tackle Thread (overlooked products)

I agree. I use Lunker City's 'texposer' hooks as well. The Texposer is an excellent hook for sure! Have you ever tried the extra wide gap version? I haven't, but it ought to be pretty good too. I remember years ago when it was new and the Fluke was first getting popular, a friend and I were at a sh...

Loomis NRX users: please help a guy out...

This is basically a different title for a something I posted a couple of days ago, but I'm looking for as much input as possible from guys with hands on experience with NRX+ or similar models from other Loomis product lines. It's unlikely that I'll have a chance to handle these rods ahead of my purc...
