Re: fluorocarbon line shootout

I’d love to see a flouro shootout more than anything! The line reveiws are how I found this site to begin with. With the lack of line reviews, I’ve pretty much quit visiting this site. You can’t trust what sponsored pros and manifactures say about their products. Not sure how many top pros I’ve hear...

Re: Saltstrong abrasion test

They said they soaked the lines and the sandpaper they used was soaked too. I just found their simple test interesting. I've used both flouro and mono as a leader in the past. I like them both for different applications. I'm guessing shooter would do better, would be a nice test to see. I've tested ...

Saltstrong abrasion test

The saltstrong guys done a clever abrasion test with sandpaper on a dowel rod. In their tests, mono proved to be more abrasion resistant than flouro. I'm going to start using mono more often as leader material. I know I'll get better knot strength. Anyone use mono as leader over flouro? Check out th...

Re: Braid for deep diving cranks

Six wrap up and down modified albright works great. I have trouble getting it to sinch properly if I use more wraps than that. Lost a Brians prop B2(27.99) and learned the hard way how important it is to sinch almost to breaking strenth. Search youtube. Justin Lucas and Seth Fieder have a couple goo...

Re: Braid for deep diving cranks

I've been cranking with braid for years. 30 lb is best for me. I've used 20 a lot but for lighter baits. You will definitely have dig in and issues with a heavy crank with 20 and probably break offs when casting. I would use 40 before I would use 20. Brown marker is nice to color your last 4 or 5 fe...

Re: Vicious No-Fade Braid

I have used the 30 and 40 but not lighter weight for spinning gear. I would agree that it is a little stiff which might not be the greatest for spinning but perhaps the 20 would be a bit more supple. I haven't used in enough to say how much it limbers up. I am loving it so far. 20 is the lightest th...

Re: Vicious No-Fade Braid

The diameter of this braid is the smallest I've ever seen. 40lb=009 inch is the diameter of most 20lb. Has anyone that has this line found their diameter accurate?

If you would like to see a new line review comment here

I have been looking forward to a new line review for a long time. The last review which was the FPI showdown was 2/21/13, three years ago now. The flourocarbon showdown part two was 6/7/07. I know there are more lines and line manifacturers out there now than ever before and a line review to the det...

Re: Is it Daiwa, Shimano, or someone else?

Daiwa!!!!
I'm 37 years old and remember my first Daiwa like it was yesterday. I was 12 when I saved up enough money to buy a PT33SH. I've owned almost every major brand at one time or another, but my hearts always been with Daiwa.

Re: Why can't we get a new line review?

I asked the same thing this spring in March and Cal responded. He said they were working on it and hoped to have it out this year. They are going to test them in the lab as well as fish with them themselves. Takes time but I'm ready for it too. Thats the #1 reason I keep checking this site. Just for...

FPI Flourocarbon tests

They done the FPI tests in Feb of 2013 and tested 4 lines. They said get ready for the avalanche of results to come. I haven't seen any, maybe I'm not looking in the right place?
