Re: Lucky craft issues

Agree, they do float now instead of being suspend. Every LC bait (Pointer 78, Slender Pointer)I bought in last two years float. Old ones suspend perfectly. Even in winter time when temp ~50F or so they float when I checked my new LC baits last time. Also, I noticed the old ones a little heavier. Sc...

I have never tried YGK Upgrade x8, what makes it so much better?

What YGK pound rating would be the same line Dia in Xplasma 8lb?
YGK 16lb?
It's much smoother, limper (but not as limp as say J braid x8), seems to almost repel water.

16lb is about the same dia.

Re: Sunline Xplasma Asegai

Tried the 8lb for 5 trips, did not like it - way too wiry for me. Doesn't hold a candle to YGK Upgrade x8 imo.

Re: MB P5

Hey Johnny, I'd say the Windbuster is what you're after, I have been throwing weightless Dot Crawlers on it and it casts beautifully, even in wind (as the name implies). Sensitive, perfect balance and enough power if you're around some light cover. I don't think you'd be disappointed with it. Theo ...

Re: Spool Overfilled? and Topshot Floro Issues

I started underfilling the spool when I have flouro, not a lot, maybe 12’/15’. Hasn’t impacted my casting ability or distance at all BUT it’s helped with reducing spinning loops and stuff. I know that’s not exactly your issue but it may help a little. Yeah I ended up stripping off the 6lb sniper fo...

Re: Spool Overfilled? and Topshot Floro Issues

That is a very unusual issue to have. I run a topshot or just a long leader of 6-12 feet often. It's not happen to me like this. After talking to a few people, it's not that unusual. Knot inside the spool (for a 7'6 rod that's 13ft+) leads to problems, knot outside of spool zero issues. I think wha...

Please do, I recently got the Daiwa AGS 7’ 1” H and I am very impressed.
I've been curious about the 7'H for light saltwater duties.

What would you say is the low - high end on that rod? Is there a lively tip section to it or is it fairly stiff?

Re: Opinion: It may not be worth it

The worst thing about jumping to the highest end gear is setting new parameters for yourself. My JDM Theory spinners were more than adequate merely 2 months ago...then I got an Exist. Now the Theories seem a bit shabby, which is objectively ludicrous. They are amazing little reels. But alas, Certate...

Re: Steez AGS Spinning Rods

Awesome, thanks for the update and info on your buddies 7'6MML. I wanted the exist lt but decided to give the certate lt a try. Hopefully they get a lot of 761MML's in soon haha. Further update now that I've logged some hours with the rod... Absolutely perfect. Balances tip up with my Exist 3k, can...

Let the spool tell you. Judging by photo I’d say you’re filled better than maximum. But you’ll know for certain soon enough, mount it, string it up, open the bail. What jumps off the spool is the amount the spool doesn’t want.
Excellent, thank you. I just cut off about 15 yards of slinky line.

Re: Spool Overfilled? and Topshot Floro Issues

Spool looks filled correctly to me, I'd fish it. I was wondering if you ever thought about or tried adding just a tiny drop of superglue to the the tag ends of the braided line after the knot was tied to help prevent the braided line from unraveling. Thank you. The tag end is not unraveling, it's t...

Spool Overfilled? and Topshot Floro Issues

I can't get a long topshot of floro to work on spinning reels. If my FG/Alberto is in the spool, sooner or later the braid right behind the knot gets frayed to hell on a random cast (my knots are PERFECT). 14lb YGK x8 Upgrade (4lb US braid dia) to 6lb floro leader, happens w/o fail at some point dur...

Stz 76MML by a long shot...if tackletrap still has any in stock I would snap one up!
