I just tested out the new Lightning Staysee...I could not get it down to depth unless I wind slowly. The usual 4-5 quick cranks had the bait tracking sideways back to the surface. Seems to want to blow out on anything but the lightest twitches or pulls. It was windy and I was on my kayak, but so far...
There are different levels of "relationships" these channels have with tackle companies...from outright sponsorships to "pro staff" (promotional staff lol) to access for reviews/sneak peaks. Sounds like Tim and Matt have an on-and-off first access to some Shimano reels...and this...

I would really like to try single hooks on hardbaits sometime, are there any distinct advantages or disadvantages??? The advantages are obvious: safety for yourself and the fish...how many tail trebles find their way into gills and eyeballs and fingers? One tackle variable that opens up by switchin...
As far as rings go, I assume the #2 Owner Hyper Wires work for the most part??? There really aren't many rings I would consider an upgrade outside of the mentioned Owner's or SPRO rings. Never tried the VMC on Tacklewarehouse, but they are cheaper for sure. If you're looking for quality smaller spl...
Was cool to see the new Poison Adrena in that TB video. That rod certainly looked sweet! And to those who say TB is "all about paid links"...that hardly seems fair since they haven't been brand loyal when it comes to gear at all, and a channel with their viewership/trajectory can easily b...

Expride 7' light with stella 2500s Just picked up a 6'10ML from Gary at TT...it was in stock for about 8 hours lol. Any chance you have that one to compare to the 7'L? The 610ML, fwiw, is exactly what I'm looking for in a finesse spinning rod, 4 - 6lb line. And I see a lot of Stellas paired to Expr...

What do you use that 610ML for? Small moving baits?

FG is a terrible knot for light line applications. For one, many of the "nano" braids are very slick and biting into light floro leader is difficult. But more importantly, a single-strand finger-trap style knot...requires a fair bit of tensioning to bite properly. The last thing you want t...
bronzefly wrote:Unfortunately, Hyuga have been discontinued and few models remain. That 72H is a fantastic rod but alas, they're all gone at TT.
Damn...I'll have to edit my latest video lol...what a gem of a rod.
blw wrote:What are some good choices on a medium to upper scale swimbait rod to handle 1.5 oz to 2.5 oz baits ?
If you'll never go over 2.5oz I highly recommend the Hyuga 72h. The tackle trap should have them in stock!
Was also looking at this exact same rod and wondering the same as OP. Stood out to me out of the new Tatula spinning rods. Seems like it could be a nice all around finesse rod with an edge to DS. TTU610MXS is the model number. Looks like we'll have to make our own report buddy... Will probably grab...
The cork handle spinning rod...this is the one model the local store didn't have; the 7'm felt pretty solid for its price point. Anyone have the 6'10mxf that can comment on its lure ratings? Looking to do double duty DS and finesse jerkbaits...pointer 65s etc. Maybe 3/16oz jigheads + trailer? Will i...
Kinda what I was saying that the gap in performance from a $100 reel to the $300-500 isn’t far off and your getting a lot of bang for the buck out of the budget reels now, and aren’t gonna be getting much more out of a reel twice the cost if anything in some cases. Curado, tatula, now the SLX...spe...
