UL Deep Jerkbaits

Besides the LC Bevy Shad 40DD...and possibly the Staysee 60 (though that's pushing it size wise)...

what other deep suspending UL jerkbaits are out there? 6+ ft, 1-2".

Hi Bantam,

How so for saltwater?

Btw, how far back did the K receive the running upgrade to thumb bar, and that extra O ring?

Re: ICAST 2018 Rumors

There's a few "leak" videos out, along with the official Shimano USA video. Apparently not the only DC reel out this year:

Re: Daiwa Tatula Lt

Quick update on my ballistic LTs: The 4k is butter out of the box, and remains buttery after a dozen surf trips. The 2500 was not as smooth out of the box, and remained "dry" "raspy" on the retrieve after a dozen freshwater yak trips...nothing terribly significant, but compared t...

Re: Spinning MH rod

The Cronos are hugely underrated rods imo. Hi all: Need some help picking a spinning rod in the $150 +/- range. Narrowed it down to Daiwa Cronos, Denali Kovert Lite or Abu Villain 2.0. Want a split grip with either EVA or Winn handles. Will be used with a Daiwa Fuego LT 3000 series with 20lb braid f...

Okay, this gives me hope. Any chance at a photo comparison of the different triggers?

Re: Tatula Elite AGS M/MH for Jerkbait?

I have no idea about the Tatula models you listed but the 172 M Zodias works very well as a highly versatile slightly beefier jerbait rod. Something to consider. I had that and the 610m zodias, both great rods and you're right would be perfect...the only problem is the fluted alum foregrip/nut chaf...

Re: Tatula Elite AGS M/MH for Jerkbait?

The M/MH is a little on the stiffer side for a M/MH it is great for bottom contact and I do use it for flukes but with hard jerkbaits and I can see pulling the trebles might be an issue. I use the Steez XT M for my jerkbaits and it is awesome for reaction baits. Yeah I think you're right. Just foun...

Thanks. Was it the length or action that disqualifies this as a jerkbait rod for you? was it pulling out trebles?

Tatula Elite AGS M/MH for Jerkbait?

I'm looking for a jerkbait rod, with 2 caveats: I fish from a kayak sitting down, so I'm working the rod side-sweep. 7' is fine. I also replace both trebles with owner inline singles, so I'm figuring a slightly heavier action rod would be better suited than the normal ML for finesse trebles? I might...

Put the hook in the back, but balance the belly eyelet with something. I use figure 8 crankbait clips:
