Re: Megabass rod for swimjigs and frogs?

The reason I love it as a frog rod and why I’m trying to make it work as one is that my hook up to landing ratio has been so good that I don’t even post about it as no one will believe me. I think the sv103 is a bit heavy for it but it’s such a comfortably palming combo that I again want to try to ...

Re: Spinning rod - new Tatula or Phenix Feather

BTW, I'm not "cracking" tubes like they do in the Great Lakes, I'm slow dragging and hopping tubes in water that is less than 12' most of the time. You'll be fine with the Feather then, and no issues with hook penetration. I was more thinking about snapping a jig/tube (cracking, w/e) on a...

Re: Spinning rod - new Tatula or Phenix Feather

If the taper on the 7'1m Phenix is similar to the ML, it would be too slow to really crack a tube imo. Shaking, dropshotting, no problem. But when I want to really "pop" 1/6 - 1/4oz jigheads + trailer or tubes, the tip action is too slow on the Feather.

Re: Shimano Expride A Casting Rod 7'2" Med Lt+ Reviews

Funny. I was looking at this rod on ebay a week or two ago for throwing 1/8oz texas rigs for smallmouth. It is now sold  Thinking about using it for 1/4oz drop shot as well. Both techniques using with an Aldebaran 50hg. How would describe the taper? Fast. Nice even bend under load. You might g...

Re: Shimano Expride A Casting Rod 7'2" Med Lt+ Reviews

Any experience with this rod? Seeking a rod for the Alder BFS. I got the 7'2ML+ a couple of months ago, but have been using it mainly in saltwater. The few times I used it for freshwater bass fishing...let's see: threw an 05 rippin rap a mile on my cu70, 3/16oz jig head + 4" ez shiner no probl...

Re: Tatula LT vs. Fuego LT spinning

Have you ever seen a Stradic or 1000 sized Shimano in direct comparison to your Tatula LT 1000??? Soon as either my wife's Revo Premier 30 or my STX20 goes out (assuming Abu won't replace, they are great for warranty work) I want to try one. I've owned both the FK and CI4+ 1k size. The Tatula fishe...

Re: Tatula LT vs. Fuego LT spinning

The Tatula LT is lighter with the Zaion frame but the Fuego 2500 is still light for a spinning reel and is mag sealed and I like that feature. Some very disgruntled Fuego LT owners on another forum, apparently the stem/frame flex deep on small inshore fish. Average bass? Maybe not...5lb smallie in ...

I thought the Caldia is more a 500 sized reel, but the new 1k daiwas are nice too. Thanks for sharing!

UL Deep Jerkbaits

Besides the LC Bevy Shad 40DD...and possibly the Staysee 60 (though that's pushing it size wise)...

what other deep suspending UL jerkbaits are out there? 6+ ft, 1-2".
