Re: Do you mind Daiwa going full Made In Thailand?

I would rather Thailand than China.

Re: New Daiwa reel?

So here is what I think, BC fans will be disappointed. Minimum new in the BC world. Lots new in the Spinning world. Several variations of current products, more upscale additions to spinning reels. Don't know about rods. Some changes in the under $100 rods but those are already available at TW. Time...

Great stuff indeed. I still would like to get my Pixy done. But I never tire of seeing your work.

Re: Automotive Observations

My feelings maybe different as I spent over 30 years in the auto manufacturing business starting in the early 70s. The first cars I drove were from the early sixties. So here is what I see based on that experience. Cars from the 60s that so many people wax nostalgic about were lucky to make it to 10...

BFS Rods

I am asking for help in designing a line of BFS rods. This is a hypothetical deal, I am not really going to manufacture a line of rods but I wonder what people would want if they could design their own BFS rod. Interested in line rating, lure rating, lengths and action. Can you help me out.

Re: Daiwa TWS And Braid, Opinions

So I was not trying to contradict anyone or put words in anyone's mouth. Here is my stance, by all reports the TWS system had some early problems and by the lack of any new reports, I have assumed that these were fixed. I do not see posts from 2016 as being valid to any current discussion. I could n...

Re: Daiwa TWS And Braid, Opinions

The one link I was able to look at was from 2016. Come on guys if you don't like the T-wing that is fine but apparently the problems with it were fixed some time ago. I have seen no new posts of the thing grooving. For me the TWS deal is a non issue I neither love or hate it. I have used braid to le...

Re: American Tackle G2 Carbon Handles

Those handles look great. I had ordered some from NFC a couple months ago and they look very similar if not identical. I have built on one. The problem was they came without trim pieces so the fact these come with trim is a problem solver in my mind. Love the work!!

Re: Bobber & Jig Tangles

The bobber was hooked directly into one eye of the three way swivel. Main line to one eye and leader to one eye. Sorry if my explanation was not clear.

After the cast you would "work" the jig by shaking the rod. After three days of fishing and shaking a long rod my wrist was killing me.

Re: Bobber & Jig Tangles

I am posting this not because of any personal expertise but in hope it will help out 1nutinthewater. I fished Dale Hollow lake with a guide and we used the Float n Fly technique several years ago. That technique seems to be very similar to what you are doing. We used a weighted bobber and a jig(fly)...

Re: Butt Cap Question

My assumption is you don't have a power wrapper. If you have, or have access to, a drill press I would use an appropriately sized bit and running it in reverse tends to work well. Separating the two pieces would be my choice. You do not need to cut at the glue line. The cork is already glued togethe...

Re: Butt Cap Question

I'm sure no one is ignoring your question but it is hard to offer suggestions without know just what you are dealing with. Could you post a picture of the butt cap? If not my best suggestion without seeing it is to cut the two apart with a razor blade, ream it and then glue it back together. You can...

Re: How do you like your high $$$ round reel?

I voted Daiwa but when I think about it I only have one Ryoga and I have several Calcuttas. The reason being that the Calcutta comes in so many sizes and variations while the Ryoga is basically one size with minor variations. Now if they came out with a 50 size Ryoga I would not be able to sleep at ...

Re: New Saint overpriced or not?

I have a hard time saying anything is overpriced before I ever use or touch it and that seems to be the position of many of the posters. I do remember when Loomis came out with the Conquest and/or NRX rods and everyone cried that they were not worth it. Well the people that thought they were worth t...
