I love my Lews BB2 Inshore reel and am looking for another reel.
How does the BB1 Pro or BB2 compare to the inshore?
I will mostly be using it in bays in saltwater and also some freshwater.
Will the BB1/BB2 Pro Series stand up in saltwater?
How do you like these reels?

Re: Daiwa Tatula Not Good in the Salt
imagine boaters spray misting their boats instead of flushing the engine and scrubing the boats after going in the salt. if that makes any sense  any reel will fail without properly maintaining it. Well I am going to listen to the experts who have professional experience with maintaining reels...

Re: Calcutta 100B
The calcutta would be better if you fish in saltwater. I know guys that have had them for 15 years and don't even treat them that well and they are still working.

Re: Daiwa Tatula Not Good in the Salt
No I fish out of san diego and mission bay here and there is no surf launching at all. I am still puzzled at this. I talked with the service manager and told him that I do not abuse my reels and did exactly what the service technicians tell me to do which is a light mist of a spray bottle and then w...

Re: Daiwa Tatula Not Good in the Salt
Ok the reel is toast and corroded and Daiwa will not honor the warranty. I think the reel was defective in that water got into the reel so easily. Other owners of the reel do exactly the same thing and have had no issues. I am going to stay with my lews inshore reel and shimano calcutta for inshore ...

Re: Daiwa Tatula Not Good in the Salt
There is a shimano certified reel technician that lives around the block from me and he has been doing reels for 30 years and is one of shimano's key repair guys as the company often sends him big lots of reels from fishing lodges to repair and service. He is the one that told me to just use a mist ...

Daiwa Tatula Not Good in the Salt
I love this reel and I totally hate it. For the price this reel is great, it cast great, it is smooth, performs nicely. But for saltwater this is not a good reel at all. I have had to return it to Daiwa twice already and I have only owned it since February. I gently use a spray bottle on it after us...

Re: Lews BB2 Inshore Reels
I have the bb2 inshore. I have fished it pretty hard so far. I have had it since December and used it with 20lb fluorocarbon and swimbaits for a the first month. It worked well for this application. I have it loaded up with 65lb braid now and have used it inshore for snook and like it a lot. I woul...

Lews BB2 Inshore Reels
I have not seen many reviews of this reel at all.
Anyone tried it?
Also if you have used the lews tournament pro in saltwater has it held up?

Daiwa Coastal Zillion vs Daiwa Tatula HD
I am a saltwater bay fisherman and sometimes freshwater lake fisherman.
I plan on using either of these reels in salt and fresh for mostly bass fishing and calicos in the ocean.
Which reel do you think is better since they are both high speed reels?

Re: shimano curado 201 E7 still a good reel?
I bought a 201 E7 from a guy on the bloody decks forum for 100. It was recently serviced and added carbontex drag washers. I am pairing it with a lamiglas salmon rod bounce ball rod and going to use it for calico bass and for swimbaits, cranks, and spinnerbaits. I didn't know it was a salmon rod unt...

Bought a Salmon Rod for Saltwater Bass and Fresh?
I am in Southern California in San Diego. I was looking for a reel to pair with my shimano curado 201 E7 so I walked into Sports Chalet today and saw a beautiful rod that seemed to have the characteristics that I needed. It was a Lamiglas lx 79 x11 rod and I got it for only 80.99! It has a very good...
