Re: After 10 years in a kayak ...

It looks sweet. Very mcuh so. How does a motor on the side affect placement in the water, I wonder. I have been happy with my Jackson Big Rig, but use it too little as 1) It will only fit me and, 2) It is quite heavy throw around solo. That stable canoe with room for two and low weight seems perfect...

Fishing in Washington DC

I will be attending a conference in your fine capital in early October. I hope to find a few hours to fish the Potomac / Tidal basin. Most likely from shore. Being from North Europe, my knowledge on lures/patterns for early fall fishing in DC is quite low. I read that bass are quite aggresive during...

Re: Inline Spinners

I have chosen a few of the lures that may not be easily obtained in the US. The left row are all Mapso/Lukris spinners - the Mapso Ory in gold and silver are found in the upper left corner. Great spinners with quick and easy rotation. Three Black Flagg Drop spin are shown more or less in the middle ...

Re: Inline Spinners

Beautiful spinners you have there =D> I do not make my own, but I use inline spinners often - for trout - and have a very large collection. While I do not make my own spinners, I always improve them with better hooks (Owner, Gamakatsu, VMC or VanFook). Trebles if vegetation allows and otherwise sing...

Re: 2 BFS setups from the kayak

Awesome - looks like a really good trip. I love BFS fishing, which I do often, and have great fun in my Jackson Big Rig, which i use too little.

Re: BFS Training Line

I wish I had a way to test the strength of 10lb Sniper, it seems a good bit stronger then it’s diameter would indicate. It is a great line in 10# and has turned me on to FC as mainline. I use the 10# on my Steez SV w ZPI NRC001m and it is great (also for BFS). I will have to try thinner FC on my mo...

Re: (SUL) Super Ultra Light?

I use 4# Invizx on my ASC and it has plenty of capacity for UL baits, and that's using a 6'4" UL bass rod primarily for 1/16-1/8. If you wanted to use it with heavier line/lures you could always drop a Mag Z Pixy spool in it. I consider using 6# invizx on my ASC and similar BFS reels. What do you t...

Re: Millionaire CT SV

No, I haven’t worked on the spring or ramp as I have limited experience with it. I consider using the reel for the pike and perch where lures are heavier - plus maybe having the spool less filled with line may help.

Re: Millionaire CT SV

I have made some comments on the reel in the 19 steez ct thread, which by now is 21 pages long. I do not like the reel much. Some plusses: It is good looking and pleasent to palm. It is also very smooth. I would expect this in a high end Daiwa. When (my) casting goes well, especially with 5g plus lu...

Re: BFS Training Line

I use straight braid 0.10-0.12mm (10lb), no leader. No issues whatsoever. The fish I target are very shy but thin braid does not seem to matter. Leader may be needed in areas where abrasion is a big issue. Because BfS spools are so shallow with little line capacity, the birdsnests that I get are typ...
