Re: Some one HELP ME!!!
Do what I do now that you probably have everything you need (and probably much more that you don't), spend that extra time fishing :) Seriously, try to control your urge to buy by getting out on the water a lot more or spending time with family. Try to limit fishing research and web surfing to when ...

Re: What are the must have reels ?
Adding to the great Stella spinning reel, I'd add the Shimano Stradic Ci4+ for those with a bit tighter budget. Depending on reel size, they are somewhere just north of $200 and they are simply great. I don't think I have ever read a negative review on this reel. Brad The CI4+ is where I started an...

Re: Traveling with Fishing Gear
I prefer to travel with multi piece rods so I can have them safely stored within my luggage. Im not sure what its like for you in the US but everywhere I have travelled it seems like if you give an airline something extra to take that is unusual they do everything in their power to lose or damage i...

The older conventional Tierra that I used before had a standard design.

Re: 15 Luvias or 13 certate?
Hawkoath I have loads of spinning reels but have never owned a Cerate. However I cannot figure out what is this "oval loop" you are referring to. Please clarify what part you are talking about. From the Daiwa website: http://www.daiwa.com/reel/detail.aspx?id=597 I believe it's called the bail assem...

Re: 15 Luvias or 13 certate?
I don't have a luvias but do have a larger certate and if I had to do it again and was in your situation I would probably choose the Luvias. Let me give you my reasons. First of all, I don't think Certate is really all that smooth compared to other reels out there. It's a workhorse though in terms o...

Re: Hiking with Fishing Gear
The tubes my 4 piece fly rods come in  Hiking 9 miles with a one piece sounds like a chore. Lol, probably. I was thinking of creating an apparatus of interconnected pvc tubing to carry them on my backpack lol. But not that I think of it, it will probably throw off my balance quite a bit and bi...

Re: Traveling with Fishing Gear
Thanks guys. I've never travelled with rods before. Usually I use the gear that others provide when I go somewhere. The major reason I'm even considered bringing my one piece and two piece rods with me to these trips is because there is a good chance that I can beat some of my personal records quite...

Depends on the spots I'm looking at. I'm looking at a max of two rods with one being a one piece.

I was wondering what you guys use to store your rod(s) when hiking say up to 9 miles at immediate level difficulty at most?

Traveling with Fishing Gear
A couple of trips are on the calendar (one international, one to the other side of the US) next year and I am seriously thinking about bringing along some fishing gear. What do you guys use to transport your one piece rods, two piece rods, gear, etc... on an airplane?
