Re: Carrying duplicate baits
Depends on the specific lure. Topwater typically I carry one, unless the lure is disposable. Crankbaits it depends on how hard it is to get a replacement. If it's hard to come by, typically I'll order two at a time. Jerkbaits I keep a minimum of two on the boat for my good colors. It gets expensive,...

Re: Megabass Python Rods
I have the 2018 White Python with a Calcutta Conquest 200, and I love it. I use it for mid-sized paddletails (6" MagDrafts, MagDraft Freestyles, 6.8" Keitech Swing Impacts, etc.) and mid-sized glidebaits (Deps Slide Swimmer 175 and Megabass I-Slide 185s). Fantastic rod, very sensitive.

You could use lighter wire trebles, or downsize hooks by a size.

Re: What to do with a steez sv105 ltd
Majority of the time is a 1/2oz Keitech M1. Also have thrown 3/8oz in the same jig, but it feels light. Both with either a Reaction Smallie Beaver or Netbait Paca Chunk on the back.leggomye990 wrote:Fishinfanatic115 wrote:I have one on a Destroyer FMJ. Fantastic for jigs with 17lb fluoro.
What jig weight are you throwing with it?

Re: Gamma Fluoro and CoPoly
When I use Edge it's only on leaders. It's significantly thicker than Seaguar AbrazX at the same rated strength, but is far tougher. Seems that they rate it lower than it breaks at. Tough as nails, very abrasion resistant.

Re: Daiwa cracking down on wholesalers/private dealers?
Technically, all dealers who run through Daiwa directly should have to stick to Daiwa's MSRP pricing, or risk losing their dealership. I'm not sure if they've recently started cracking down on this, but I did notice what you did, so it seems to be a reasonable assumption.

Re: Need help ( Bottom contact rod)
Second the FMJ opinion. I'd also venture to say Orochi XX Enforcer for finesse jigs and shakey heads. I've thrown down to a Ned rig and up to a 3.8" Keitech Swing Impact Fat on mine, with minimal difficulty. I use 15lb J-Braid with an 8 or 10lb fluoro leader.

Daiwa Steez LTD 105XH/Megabass Destroyer Warhammer
Daiwa Steez LTD 105XH/Megabass Destroyer FMJ
17lb AbrazX on both, I love a good flipping bite.

Re: For you spinnerbait Enthusiasts...
Very cool! 8-) A bit off topic, but does anyone have experience with the Megabass - V9 Spinnerbaits? https://japanlureshop.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/small_image/210x/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/v/9/v9_03_ayu_2.jpg Thin wire, they run very nice, and I get a lot of bites on them. They wo...

This site has some specs. Looks like they shaved some weight off of the 2014 model.

Re: Another hook setting question
For jigs and soft plastics, I set up but over the shoulder of the hand I'm reeling with. Just a more natural motion for me. So spinning rods I set over my left shoulder, and casting I set over my right, since I reel with my left and right hands respectively.

Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods
Has anyone gotten their hands on a 902S yet? I'll have mine on the water soon. It's finally getting cold enough for a 1/4 oz hair jig bite to start up, and I'm really curious how it's going to handle those duties, but it's going to be a fantastically versatile spinning rod in general. Mine will be ...
