Re: '19 Scorpion MGL 150

I'd also like to switch the handle out for a 90mm handle, but am having hard time finding a place to get them. Thanks in advance! I'm using a 96mm Shimano factory handle on mine. They sell them from the Metanium and Curado K (on the XG models). As for the reel itself, mine has performed flawlessly ...

Re: Shimano Stephano & Engetsu gears!

There are multiple models of the Engetsu. The model I own is basically a Curado 70 on steroids, including brass gears. I'd have to dig out the box to see the exact model number of mine, but that is the model that I would recommend. The other models are Citica based if my memory recalls.

Re: aaron martens with loomis

He's been a big Shimano guy for years. I'm surprised it took this long to happen.

I'm sure the guy could help design a hell of a dropshot and shakeyhead rod.

Duce Rods?

I noticed that TackleWarehouse is now carrying Duce Rods and I did a little research on these rods. They seem like an awesome rod for the money. The Cliff Crochet signature series seems like a real gem at the price point as well. -Toray carbon blanks -Double locking reel seat nuts -Skeletonized reel...

I'll give a nod to the Extreme 744. Bump up to the 745 if you're going to be in weeds and wood.

Re: Scorpion MGL

If those are the size of the fish he's catching on it, I'm not surprised.

I've been running mine all season, including an 8 day trip to Canada, and a few weekend long trips on Erie. I've got 0 issues with mine.

Re: Curado 70 discontinued?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the SLX MGL available in JDM only? That technically still leaves a hole in the USDM.

This is too good of a deal to pass up. Pre-order placed.

Re: Tatula Elite vs Curado K

Reporting back after my second outing with my Elite.

This time I respooled with braid and got the brakes dialed in. The Elite is definitely the further caster than the K.

Re: Tatula Elite vs Curado K

I own two K's and a Scorpion MGL. I also just got an Elite last week. I've only got about an hour on the Elite so far, but I will say this. I'm getting the same distance with the Elite throwing at 75% power as I do with my Shimano's throwing at 100% power. I'm still getting used to the the braking s...

Re: Quantum Smoke S3

I bought one on the cheap, cheap to check it out (the tour s3 version). Had every intention of using it because it seemed like a cool reel for the money. Ended up not using it and wanting something else, so I sold it before I ever used it. From just handling it, it seemed like a decent reel.

Tatula Elite Long Cast

Those who own one of the new Tatula Elites - how are these things for casting? How do they compare to the current Shimano MGL options? Lately, I find myself leaving my Daiwa's at home and only taking my Shimano's with me, but I don't want to completely give up on Daiwa yet. I'm currently looking at ...

Re: Scorpion MGL

I've been putting some miles on mine since it was released. It's great for bombing Keitechs and spinnerbaits. I'm really happy with mine and I'm debating picking one up in a 6:1 to go with my HG.
