Re: Exsence dc 17 dc sound gone

I think on the Ecsence reels, the dc only works at the end of a cast. So probably doesnt engage in scenario you are giving. Take it out for a cast, whine should start say 1/2-2/3 of way to touchdown.

Re: River 2 Sea and JSJ Team Up to Trigger Those Bass

Yes Cal, thats the one. Most we get here are good to swing a blade off, but, the ring itself is not attached to anything substantial and pull out under the weight of a good fish. Thanks for the quick response.

Re: River 2 Sea and JSJ Team Up to Trigger Those Bass

Cal, any chance you could check how well the custom hook hanger is attached ? Some similar attachment points are not very secure and pull out quite easily as they are only set into the lead weight and not firmly attached to the hook itself. Thanks.

I’d actually be ok with the cost being the same or close to the Tranx, as long as I could get it in a high speed version (7:1 plus) with a standard handle (no power knob). Basically an updated version of the 300e with a slightly higher gear ratio.
Would the Tranx 300 fit the bil? Choice of ratios

Re: Curado K brake dial stuck

Thanks for the offer Bantam1. Reel is due for pick up today after warranty repair. Have not spoken to tech. yet but have been told it is repaired. Shimano Australia have always had a great reputation for both the product they sell and the service they provide. In 40 years of purchasing their gear, (...

Re: Curado K brake dial stuck

They are a little tight when new. Turn the dial back and forth a few times and it will loosen up some. There is friction there for a reason. We do not want the dial to change adjustment on its own, or from boat vibration, boats slamming in rough water, etc. Can only say, mine is more than a "l...

Bantam, I reckon you could make a lot of friends with a genuine 50 size with a finesse capability. :D

Re: Lefty Bonus?

Or you could be one of the lucky ones born left handed. Growing up in a right handed world I learned early on to be proficient with both hands in many things. I can cast equally well with either hand (helps in some tight spots) but I do much prefer to wind with my right. Oddly, I use a hammer left h...

Re: Calcutta scream when cast

I have no experience with either your reel or lure of choice, however, a similar situation occurs when I put too much effort into the occasional cast or am using a lure slightly too heavy for the combo I am using. Good luck finding a solution.
