Re: Sunline Defier Armilo vs Sufix Advance?

Have tried the Sufix Advance in both 8lb and 15lb. Lots of unexplained breakages on the cast especially.

Re: 2019 Daiwa Morethan PE 1000 TW

Daiwa site says this reel holds 200m of PE1.5, so apacity should be the same as 1016 spools, ie 100m of 16lb. Probably Japanese line though

Re: cheap tool for spool pin removal

Have not used this tool. Is it possible the void for the spool shaft to enter is too shallow for Daiwa reels?

Re: C clip removal tool

I use a bitty precision flat blade screw driver. Place the little blade in one of the slots and twist.. bingo. that works! Also could use a larger size sewing needle...pointed end or loop end. Most importantly, put part of your other hand next to the clip so you can grab it before it flies away, to...

Re: Aerosal Spray for Cleaning Bearings

It is the only cleaning substance mentioned on the site, along with cotton buds etc. I'm guessing the second part of your secret cleaner is pure/ distilled water, since it mixes completely with the alcohol and would therefore reduce costs. Like I said, the first recommendation is straight from Shima...

Re: Aerosal Spray for Cleaning Bearings

According to Shimano, they recommend Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol. This is from their own reel maintenance page. There does seem to be a variety of grades.

Re: Steez CT SV TW

I can't retrieve my finesse baits slow enough sometimes. The slower I go the more I get bit it seems like. My SS SV BFS is a 5 speed for this very reason. For a finesse reel the speed of the Alphas CT 70 should be plenty fast. I use my Alphas SV almost exclusively to skip docks and have never felt ...

Had one order from them. As you say pricey but service was fast and trouble free to Australia. Good luck.
