Re: OG Steez - Tackle Trap 7.1 gearset

Should be fairly easy to calculate. Just need an accurate spool diameter. Calculated at the very lip, line retrieved per crank would be 29.8ish inches with a 7.1 ratio. Dont know how critical it is though. Manufacturers can only supply certain info, line diameter, spool fill by user will vary. Accur...

Re: Daiwa reels and Bone rods

Fantastic travel series rods. Have a few and currently waiting on the 634L to arrive. Once it arrives I will try a mix of Alphas and Aldebaran reels to find a best fit. Currently using Curado or Ryogas. Great actions for our southern Oz species.

Really like the offset seats. Daiwa also use something similar but yet to find a source to purchase them from.

Not sure of an answer for your question, however, make sure you change shaft and side plate bearing together to provide a more balanced function.

Have you tried sticky lead strips like the fly fishers use? Or you should be able to source stick on weights or suspend dots easily.

Can anyone explain what a "lack of dynamic casting performance" means. TIA

Re: Steez SV TW castability compared to Tat SV TW

hmmm... well since the O.P. asked about casting and in 3 pages nobody actually mentioned distance I guess I will try to share my experience. I like testing and comparing things fairly. I own a steez sv tw, and a tat sv tw. One day I put them both on the same rod , both were spooled with the same li...

Is an inflatable jacket allowed where you are? No back on most, just a couple of straps.

Re: Looking for some walkie talkies

A lot of the newer PLBs have a message function where you can directly message friends, family, or the authorities. World wide coverage so no limit on signal.

Re: Long distance spool for sv103

Those of you looking for spool storage options; if you know someone with a machine shop, mechanic etc, a lot of the taps etc that they use, come in heavy duty screw style packaging. Similar to the proprietary spool cases the reel companies used to supply but heavy duty and probably for free.

X3.
If it is about the Zero bearing reel, haven't used one, but the ones for sale locally feel very low quality. Knock a heap of money from the price and they may get a few people willing to risk a purchase.
