Re: Are you using any Chinese manufactured reels?

Friend handed me his “just out of curiosity“ buy the other day - the Soloking Acura. I expected hot trash but in the end I was blown away how smooth, non-geary, nothing-weird it performs. Spool is fast, retrieve nothing to complain about. You get a lot for 40 bucks. Just feels like a cheap frame th...

Re: 2017 Tatula Elite Versus 2023 Version

Thank you for sharing specs and your experience with this rod. I also have a The Sensor but looking for a more powerful finesse stick to fish around heavier cover. The Sensor's been fine, but I've found more uses for it elsewhere. Was thinking on the JDM Expride 7'2 ML/H or the unicorn Glorious 6'11...

Re: All new steez sv tw

Mine just arrived and man this thing is tiny compared to 16 Steez. Palms amazing well, just a little wider than an Alphas SV TW. I'm not sure how it compares to a Steez CT, since I don't have one. do you happen to have the 21 zillion? how does it palm compare to it? from the looks of it, they seem ...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!

What is your opinion of its performance after some time using it? Hello, Friend! After 6-7 times of using this spool, i can say, that its best chineese DIY 34 mm spool, that i had. Universal, i can change rod while fishing and use one reel with both of my 2 rods (3-14 g, 7-21 g). Very comfortable c...

Wondering if they bumped up the warranty since this clearly is the flagship over Conquest and dat price tag.

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!

Dang if only the current discounts applied to the Alphas spool. I picked up the KKR Tatula 80 and Rays 34mm HLC, before I saw this one. Was thinking about the KKR Metanium, but I'm not sure if 2 brake hubs would be enough.

Yeah, the AMO is red and looks like a ZPI.

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!

Picked up the Kawa 34mm spool for 30bux after sale, which is the same as Ruke. 5g without bearing, 6g with. Holds plenty of line for my power BFS. Initial impressions compared to AMO spool. Bearing is less noisy, feels more controlled and not as fast. Casted a KO Jackall Piku whatever, weighs about ...

Zander's stick is now in my possession for an appointment in the lab...

The reel seat is smooth and very comfy. Trigger seems to be placed well and is not overly large.. more on the minimal side.

The tip top is not Recoil. :)

Might need to order one.

Re: The Highest Example – The Edge Epitome Rods from Gary Loomis

How's the reel seat? Is it like the current Edge rods? I didn't like the rough carbon texture I felt when they had the Black Widow on display at a show. Im wishing it's like a Madbull, but I might of been unimpressed with how unbalanced and heavy it was and may need a second feel of it.

Re: 2021 daiwa blazon rod

Pulled the trigger on the Blazon. First impressions, lightweight, but balance point with a Tatula Elite is like 1 and half inch above nut. Though rod doesn't feel tip heavy at all. The rod feels like Zodias, Expride and Rebellion stiffness. To compare action with the rods I've fished, the action is ...

Re: Phenix Feather FTX-69MH

I recalled weighing the 7ft 1in MH around 3.1 oz. The 69 might be a tad lighter. Beware of Phenix rod powers. MH are M, H are MH, both MH and H rods were too soft for my liking. The XH though is a hidden gem in the lineup.
