Re: ZPI NRC001-M Spool vs RCS 1012 sv G1?

So did you try these yet or what...? My wallet PayPal is poised and ready lol I've fished the old ZPI spools for years and have a bunch of them. I've put in a lot of time with the new PG and M spools, primarily in Zillion SV TW and Steez SV TW platforms. The M spool, I've fished quite a bit in the ...

Re: ZPI NRC001-M Spool vs RCS 1012 sv G1?

Has anyone tried the pg in a first gen steez? I'm wondering if it will be too wild. I'm wondering this as well. My thumb is still a little slow as of yet. I guess if someone could compare the PG or M to a Blue Emblem, that would be a great gauging point for me. https://s20.postimg.org/jtz...

Re: Sunline Crank FC fluorocarbon

After watching the guys on Tactical Bassin and David Fritts recommend using light braid (I am trying 20 lb Sufis 832), I decided to try that. I will still use a shock leader. I am thinking about ordering some Sunline Crank to use as a shock leader. The super slick ION coating they tout makes me won...

Re: Daiwa Goldcast III spincast (for kids)

I bought a Daiwa underspin 40 size reel for my droughts to learn on. April 1st is the start of trout season here so that's when she might start using it. I say might because it's only going to be 3*C judging by the current forecast...

Re: Braid to flouro questions

An FG knot or a Crazy Alberto/Improved Albright are my preferred leader knots. For tying fluoro to the hook, look up the Shaw Grigsby fluoro knot. It's easy to the and is strong.

Re: Spool Speed bearings

Aside from the three spool bearings, is there any need for super high end bearings in the other bearing locations in a baitcaster? For example, I love handles with two bearings in each knob, but is there a need for super bearings in them? Any bearing with decent tolerances will do for the knobs imo...

I think they're reached the maximum gear rain for that size gear box. I don't know how much smaller they could go on the pinion without compromising the gear mesh.

Re: Japan style trout spoons

What are you using to store your small and tiny trout spoons in? I feel like having them banging assigns in a normal tackle tray isn't ideal... Ideas and suggestions welcome, thanks!

Re: Packing bearings with grease?

The only bearings that get oil are the spool and knob bearings for me. I don't pack my frame bearings, but they do get a good coating of grease before putting the shields back on. My gears and other frame friction points get a different grease than the bearings. I use a white synthetic grease for th...

Re: Show off your stuff

Very nice but what are these  Haha yeah.. I like the "sissy reels" for weightless tubes and flukes. They also double as walleye reels. Someday I'll get a couple core 50's or something.. Even the sv105 didn't like to cast that stuff. I have an sv105 in a Steez and it casts a weightles...
