Re: TD Z 7.1:1 RH gears

You're all doing great collaborative work on these breeders, I salute you!! =D> =D>

@jjbassnforfun: do you think you might be interested in making a set of faster gears for the ugly duckling TD-Z's...?

It can be, I just need to get the right sized reamer/drill bit to enlarge the i.d. of the new parts.

No worries!

I'm not sure how much line the Ray's Pixy spool holdsbut it came bff very much.
You would need a 32mm to 31mm spacer for that, and I'm not sure if anyone makes one that size. ZPI maybe but I'm not sure.

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!

I might be late to the finesse game, just got myself Alphas pixy airy red and Ray's shallow spool. It might already been answer but I'll ask here again, how much line capacity on Ray's shallow spool? I ordered Gliss line 18lb for it or might use 4lb copolymer line. Another question, I know I need s...

Those are all beauties!

I guess next would be an AIRD Red Tune with the spool from a T3 Air...?

Re: TUTORIAL - Non-SV Spool convert to SV Spool

Dredging up an old thread here. I made this modification to 2 J-Dream spools and MAN what a difference! I'm definitely going to hunt down the correct size drill bit (what's the exact shaft size...?) and try it on a couple TD-Z and Steez spools. Thanks for this! There used to be bits called reaming ...

It'll be exactly the same as your TD-Z.

What spool is this?

I'm gonna say it's the unported Ray's spool.

Re: Daiwa Reel Resources?

Also starting thinking in spool size vs reel model/name. That will help clear up some confusion, then you can refine by name/model easier as well... OG Zillion platform and TD-Z 100m - 36 mm Steez, Tdz (except 100m), T3, SS SV, SV103 - 34 mm Alphas platforms - 33 mm SS Air, Alphas Air, T3 Air - 32 ...

Re: Daiwa Kage

OG Tatula and revised Tatula also employ SVF technology in their blanks. When you approach the Steez racing design and Heartland models, there are some other technologies at work as well, that are not offered in the lower end rods. That being said, these Kage rods look impressive on paper. It would...

Re: Need help Daiwa Tatula all around rod (Medium)

For those applications, I would go with the ML rather than the medium. I have both the medium and ML and prefer the ML for anything under 3/8.

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!

I cant believe people are spending $100 for Chinese spools lol. I own two from Ray's Studio, and they certainly worth their money, but that money is $40, not $100 with shipping. That MOMO spool is such BS too. That company made em for Abu over two years ago. They were $35-40. Now what they've decid...
