Re: Need a differential diagnosis...

I agree with Carlos. Rip it apart and give it a thorough cleaning then see if it's still there before ordering a gear set.

I hope he does a shallow spool, or someone does one. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised it we see a shallow once from Ray's Studio.

Re: Alphas CT 70 in stock at Digitaka!

I ordered one yesterday but I'm fairly surrounded with frozen water so I won't be giving any usage feedback anytime soon ](*,) ](*,)

It is a very nice blank but the max casting weight is 5g

There's gonna be too light, I go up to quarter oz inline spinners quite often. Thanks though!

I have an Alphas ASC and I'd love to hear how you think the two compare.

Light power solid tip blank...?

Does anyone know of a light power solid tip blank available...? Thinking I might have a casting rod made for my trout fishing exploits this year... Probably going to keep it in the 6'2"-6'9" range going up to 1/4 oz total weight on occasion.

Thanks in advance!

Re: ZenMarket

:D Dejapan is your best friend, they only charge 100 yen for the trouble. The total cost is the item cost+ domestic shipping+ international shipping. The shipping is nothing unless you purchase a one piece rod What does someone pay to get a reel shipped to the states with the service? $30? My last ...

Re: How do you rate these TDZ/Steez/IS spools

They spool is actually really good in a TD-Z, but if you really want to open it up a bit, swap the inductor for an R+. I find it to be a really linear but free braking profile.

Re: Best grease and oil for servicing reels. 2019 edition.

Install the carbontex washers dry? Really? I’ve heard both ways, but I’d like to know the data for wet vs dry? I was hesitant at first as well, but one off the biggest things you can do when you install carbontex drag washers is sand each steel drag washer until it's flat. It's called lapping. Get ...

Re: Best grease and oil for servicing reels. 2019 edition.

Let's see. I have: Daiwa Blue Grease Daiwa reel oil Penn Grease Penn Oil Hot Sauce Cal's Brown Grease Reel-X What's the difference? I have no idea, other than what I've heard. Right now I'm replacing the drag washers on 3 reels with carbon ones. I'm thinking the new washers need to be treated with ...

Re: Lixada carbon fiber handles?

I haven't used those specifically butI have used others from that site with good results. Be extra careful that you pay close attention to the picture of what you're ordering though. I bought 3 handles that are 4mm thick, but didn't realize that they weren't recessed for the handle nut. Without that...

Re: A Good Braid for Spinning Reels...

How does everyone find the lighter braids holding up at the leader knot? I find that, especially with lighter braids, the line deteriorates really quickly. Would a 4 strand braid hold up better, or is it strictly a function of the light braid?

As far as I can tell, he's going out the opposite way. So far, just testing the knot on the workbench, it's holding great.

Re: Daiwa Steez 103HL breakdown hot sauce replacement?

Superlube is a great all round grease and the Daiwa oil is good too. If you want, TSI321 is another oil option.
