Re: Rays studio inductor plus a type r inductor spring on sv spool

My only gripe about the Ray's is that that excellent distance tuned inductor is better suited to the kind of baits that I want a little more capacity with. Their spools are so shallow that they don't hold enough 20# braid for Ned rigs or 1/4 oz cranks. At the same time they are not that good for UL...

Do the tdz r+ and steez 103 r+ spools perform the same?
Yeah, they're identical. I actually thought I had a Steez R+ spool in my TD-Z when it was actually a Gigas spool with an R+ inductor assembly.

Deep Zonda spool in Alphas R Edition

Looking for some feedback on the deep Zonda spool in an Alphas R Edition. How does it behave? Is it like a Type R+ in an OG Steez or a little less loosey goosey...? What do you use yours for?
Thanks!

Re: ZPI MG spool upgrade (daiwa)

That is one from their last run of original spools, the writing on the side is the giveaway. The gold inductor means it comes with SiC bearings rather than regular stainless bearings. Spools with a silver inductor don't come with SiC bearings.

Re: $50 L powered (BFS?) rods?

I have this one https://m.aliexpress.com/item/32812998743.html and it's been pretty good so far. It's true to its weight rating, the reel seat is comfortable with an Alphas, the taper doesn't have any big flat spots in it even though it's a 3 piece rod.

Re: Any Pixy Enthusiast left?

I love all 3 of my Airy Red's, especially my ZPI version with the CP301. One of the others has the stock spool with upgraded bearings. The third one has a PX68 Finesse spool and upgraded bearings. All 3 have carbontex drag stack, levelwind bearing, TD-Z line guides, and Type R levelwinds. The ZPI ha...

Re: Megabass Custom FX68 Spool (Purple)

I have an FX68 in an Ito 103HL with 20# braid and that solves my potential capacity issues. It bombs baits easily stock, but with an upgraded set of spool bearings and some inductor tuning, it could really, really bomb. I'll be doing a bit of that soon.

Re: Can you remove the alpha CT70 Spool spacers?

I need to get my finesse custom and CT SV side by side to verify, but I think the frame protrusion on the gearbox side that mattress with the bearing on the spool is longer on the CT SV, *I think* (!). There's a plastic spacer or bushing in there beside the frame bearing that isn't present on other ...

I threw 4 in tubes on 1/8 oz jig with 76 mml and never felt undergunnned. I dont have 73 mxf so cant comment, but I have 7 m and 76 mml was better for tubes in my hands.
Next time I'm out with it, I'll tie one on and see how it feels. Maybe I'm missing out!

Re: Tube rod

How heavy a tube are you using...? I have the MML Tatula and think it will be way too light to throw a tube with. I use it for neko rigs and light hair jigs, and the tip is REALLY light. I feel like it would blow out casting anything heavier than 3/16 oz total weight and that's probably being genero...

The reel he's using now would get my vote.
Which means the OP gets to shop for a new reel for himself, that's the perfect solution lol
Bingo!
