Re: Ss sv spool options

Just a heads up on the Ray's kits: the blank inductor is almost identical to the Type R+ inductor, but the gold one is thinner yet. It's a little wilder.

Re: Current Rod Builds

I rewrapped am original Kistler LTA pretty well exactly like that. Are you doing a simple spiral of something with a few more transition guides? The spiral I just completed on a RX7 flippin blank was in the ball park of 30, 60, 90, 120, 150 and 180. Probably a little over kill but I think the more ...

What did you have to do to get the TD-Z line guide to fit?
Threw it on the manual mill and elongated the original hole.
The one for the guide pin?

Re: Before I Buy Spool Question

The plastic drum turns but the magnet stays put and doesnt turn with the plastic drum.I'm thinking maybe I could just put some epoxy and glue the two parts together. Are you turning the mag brake dial (on the side of the palm plate) or using the switch on the bottom of the palm plate to select one ...

Re: Before I Buy Spool Question

Easiest solution is finding a 3D magnet assembly. Otherwise, you need to figure out which part isn't working and order it, either from Daiwa in the States or from Plat in Japan.

Re: Steez SV 8.1:1

You could put a longer handle on it but then you have to crank a bigger circle for the same amount of IPT.

Re: tsi 321

I'm a big fan of it as well. I don't think I'd put another oil on top of it, rather, just add another drop off 321. TSI301 is the one that evaporates and leaves a film, 321 doesn't evaporate but it's really thin so it's hard to know when it's still there or has been spun off.

Re: Lower gear ratio for SS Air

I'm relatively certain that parts from an original Zillion will fit, but to be safe, call the guys at Tackle Trap and ask. They'll know for sure.

Re: Spinning Reel Drag tuning

Steel washers and carbontex will smooth that right out I would think. You can also use some great on them to lower their start up resistance. I use Cal's tan grease on mine.

Put the whole assembly in a big, clear plastic bag when removing and installing those clips.

Re: Removing cotter pin to change Magforce spring

I have a very work set of small needle nose pliers that I use for this. The teeth from the tip of the jaws are worn smooth so they don't scratch the and if the spool shaft.
