Re: Moon underfoot major

Anyone have a good link to a moon phases for dummies...? Also wondering if the basic principles apply to all fish, or just some more than others... Thanks in advance!

Re: Daiwa Steez 103HL

Are you talking about the Steez SV103, or the older non SV version? I'm assuming the old, as the SV version will throw just about whatever you want. If it were me (old reel), I'd opt for the Zillion SV TW spool. It's fairly inexpensive, and very versatile. Agreed, the Zillion SV1016 is a solid spoo...

ZPI 002 RR can someone speak on the performance of this ZPI spool?
If you have an OG Steez, you owe it to yourself to get a 002 and try it. They're really versatile and allow you to either play it really safe and have the spool be super controlled or dial it down and let it fly.

Re: Trout spoon recommendations?

Hate to say this, but check out the yapada spoons on all express. They have great finishes and use owner hooks. You'll save a ton of money. The ones by Daiwa are exorbitantly expensive by comparison. At least use the yapadas until you find all the snags. They say Lure Land on the packaging if that ...

Re: My Ultimate NED setup!!!

My 2 Volkey ned chuckers. A Volkey 682L with a Pixy Silver Mica with Airy Red spool for 1/10 oz heads with 3 to 5 inches of elaztech plastic. A Volkey 652UL with an SS SV103 with fixed inductor Ray's spool for 1/20 oz heads and 1.5 to 3 inch plastics. I still need to get RCS cork knobs for the Pixy...

Is there any difference in Steez103 spools spring vs. standard spring?

But:
HLC = much stronger spring than in 103 spool
sv Spool = much weaker spring than in 103 spool
Oops, I meant HLC spring.

Re: Daiwa TDZ 100ML Value

You stole that one! Just fyi, the reel has 5.8 gears. The Tackle Trap has the 7.1 gear set that will fit the LH mirror TDZ frames, yours included. I already ordered the gear set, a Steez A 90mm handle, Zaion drag star and Carbontex drag washers. While you're at it, pick up a Steez 103 or TD-Z Type ...

I like it because of the bigger profile more than anything. When I want to show them a big, easy meal, I'll fish it slow with really long pauses.

Thanks Adam.

Any idea if a OG zillion HLC inductor will fit in a 1016?
I'm not sure, but there are two different HLC spools: one that comes with the HLC reel and another that was released through three I'ze Factory tuning shop. The I'ze spool is ported whereas the stock HLC spool is dimpled.

Re: '19 Steez ct sv tw

There has been a lot of talk about how the Steez CT performs. The insides overall are pretty much the same as the Steez SV TW. Biggest change would be with the main gear. It has ridges in the inner rim of the main gear that a spring loaded pin rubs on to create the buzz sound when the drag pulls ou...

Re: Opinions on the Duo Realis 120SP?

I've caught my best jerkbait fish on a Duo 120SP, it's the first jerkbait tired on every time. How loud are the rattles? I have heard that complaint before. Honestly I still have yet to find a jerkbait that will get bit the way a 110 will in cold water. Had a buddy tie on every LC he had in his box...

Re: Inductors: Type R+ vs Mag Z

You have to keep the inductor blocks with their respective spools, they aren't interchangeable. The RCS spools (1010, 1012, 1016) use different blocks than Magforce spools so that makes swapping spools between the two impossible. You can swap springs though, the Type R+ and HLC spools will be stiffer.
