Rapala Ripstop jerkbaits all bills broken off
All 3 of the Rapala Ripstops I bought this past year had the bill break off. I generally throw these in open water, definitely not banging them up against rocks. None of my other crankbaits are experiencing broken bills - just seem these Ripstops are really fragile. Is this a known thing with them o...

Re: Sufix Advance copoly mono ...
I’ve had 10lb. on one of my botcasters and it has worked just fine. I haven’t had any issues and in fact don’t even notice any difference between it and the 10 lb. mono on my other baitcaster.

Re: BPS and Cabelas
I compared their tackle bags to others and thought their Advanced Angler bags were good, in fact I paid full price
All their stuff needs to be bought at discount though. Everything is priced at absolute max msrp

Re: Sufix Advance copoly mono ...
I checked the specs and it seems the copoly is the same diameter. For example I compared Sufix Elite 10-lb @ 0.012" and the Sufix Advanced 10-lb was the same.

Re: Sufix Advance copoly mono ...
So the Sufix Advanced copoly is thinner than say the equivalent Sufix mono? I’m planning to buy Sufix Elite (my usual go-to mono) in 10-lb. to respool a couple baitcasters but intrigued to give this copoly a try. I’m switching back some rods from braid to mono as it just feels better but admit I am ...

Re: How do I Care For My Kayak
Or don't. I use mine and then drag it behind the garage. Drag it out next time I want to go kayaking. Once in a blue moon I'll take a rag to the launch area and quickly wash the crud off it.DetroitBassN wrote:Just spray it off every time your done on a water way.

Daiwa baitcaster handles upgrades?
I have an older Daiwa baitcaster with a worn out handle that I would like to upgrade to something better. The handle looks to attach to the reel the same way so many baitcasters do. Is there a standard size, or a few standard sizes, so I can measure and shop a range of replacements?

Re: Does Shimano say to grease or oil replacement felt drags?
Thanks @Bantam1. I searched and searched and never found any official maintenance instructions from Shimano regarding felt drag washer maintenance regarding oil vs. grease. I suspect it makes little difference since a bluegill, crappie or bass for that matter isn't going to go on a sizzling 50 yard ...

I need a small tackle binder - Cabelas Utility Binder or other?
I mostly crappie fish and my primary tackle bag is fairly full with stuff dedicated to that species. Lately I have added in a little bass fishing and find myself sticking a few bags of bass plastics into my primary bag, but not with any organization. I'd like to put together a little tackle binder f...

Re: Does Shimano say to grease or oil replacement felt drags?
I tried what you suggested about cross-refencing the part number for the washers across different models. It looks to me like Shimano either truly used a different part for similar reels or they went ahead and assigned different part numbers. I am going to go compare the actual size of them between ...

Re: Does Shimano say to grease or oil replacement felt drags?
This sucks. Looks like Shimano doesn't offer schematics or parts for my 750FB and 1500FB series reels, and ereplacementparts has the schematics but they don't appear to break out the felt washer as a part I can buy.

Is their "Star" drag grease the same as what you mean when you say "Shimano drag grease"??? I did not know if they have different greases for different applications.ShimanoFan wrote:Shimano drag grease.

Does Shimano say to grease or oil replacement felt drags?
Most of my spinning reel arsenal is comprised of a mix of Shimano Sahara and Sedona reels, and most are 10 to 12 years old. We're talking 750's and 1500's and an occasional clean and lube has kept them going strong. The felt drag washer (these only have 1 steel + 1felt washer in them) finally looks ...
