Re: Rod Blank Suggestions
The blank I finally have chosen is: http://www.mudhole.com/MHX-Elite-Pro-Blank-EPS81MXF The rod will be my 1/4 and 3/8oz total weight jig rod with 10 or 12lb floro for attacking docks in very clear water. I decided to go shorter as now that I bought a kayak with summer job money I realized I would w...

Re: Rod Blank Suggestions
Oh jeez thanks for pointing that out Hogsticker. The E6x I was looking at was the 852 must have accidentally hit 3 while typing. I was looking at it for 1/4-3/8 jigs with plastic to pitch around docks in clear water with 10lb floro. However I really want the ex fast action so looks like no recon. Ma...

Re: Rod Blank Suggestions
Thanks a ton guys for the replies. So going off what you guys said maybe do something like this http://www.mudhole.com/HM-MHXCK-9 as my first build? More Questions How hard would rod building be for a 17 year old high schooler? Is it worth getting one of the MHX Kits? Sure it makes it easy but to me...

Rod Blank Suggestions
For Christmas I was planning on getting a 853c EX6. However, I decided I would like to try to build a rod as my buddy recently built one and said it was awesome.
So my question: Is there a blank out there similar to a 853c?
Thanks guys!

Re: new MB black jungle rod- the Nephilm!
5'4 would not be too bad but I normally fish 6'6 to 7 out of my yak. However one situation I can think were a really short rod would help is when you get dragged by bigger fish i.e pike or even a big bass into a pier or near heavier cover it is easier to control the rod and paddle one handed with a...

Re: your best landing % rod
My avid 7ft medium heavy with 17lb floro on it. Reel is curado I. This is my jig and trig rod when making casts with them. Also I throw a squarebill here and there in pinch on it. I think I have lost 2 fish on it in the past 2 years.
Thanks,
Ryan

Re: Oiling SVS
[quote="Cal"]The Infiniti SVS systems in the US Shimano Reels and the JDM Shimano Reels are ever so slightly different just in the way the brakes are shaped. Reels purchased from Japan do not have a card recommending lubrication of the brakes. The JDM reels purchased in the states do come with this ...

Oiling SVS
A couple people have discussed this before but I wanted to get some more opinions. I have had a curado I for a month and half now. I have re-oiled the svs system about 4-5 times. It is not a bid deal but I am wondering why this happens. I have tried the switch to opposite brakes method which works f...
