Re: USDM/JDM baits similar action to Wiggle Warts
Megabass makes one shaped likes the wart that is supposed to hunt. Of course for over 20 bucks you can probably find some real warts. There is also a Frank called a brads wiggler that looks identical but I do if it dishes the same

Re: Abu Garcia WTF's
Personally I'd rather have a daiwa or shimano than the competition from any no matter what the price point. The only doyo reels I've used that stayed in rotation for any length of time were the ones with externally adjustable centrifugal brakes. I liked them but I still prefer daiwas braking system ...

Re: Trout baits?
If you like minnow imitations the smallest size yo zuri pins minnow and floating rapala minnow both catch the heck out of stocked browns. The rainbows seem to like inline spinners better in my experience though

Re: Abu is complete garbage compared to Daiwa and Shimano
I don't know if it's fair to call abu reels complete garbage, but the newer stuff daiwa and Shimano have released the last few years makes any of the revos or orras feel like cheaper bargain reels.

Re: Crankbait reel
What rod are you planning on using? I haven't used either of the reels you mentioned but I've used Shimano core 50mg7, chronarch 50e, and citica g, and daiwa tatula type r, t3 1016, tatula ct, and sv103 at different times to throw those type baits(1/4-1/2 oz and 12ft or less). I personally prefer th...

Re: TD-S "Greenie" original (circa 1997-98)
They are still pretty good rods but I wouldn't think the price they go for would be worth selling the one you have. Especially if you have to pay shipping costs. If it were mine I'd hang on to it and use it for tip down techniques like poppers or jerkbaits. It is also a good length for skipping in c...

Re: Curado 70xg spools
Flushing and relubing the stock bearings or even changing the bearings out for some that would give easier start up speed will also help with casting light weights if you haven't already tried that

Re: Zillion SV TW knob bearings
I know this is probably a dumb question but just to be certain, are you positive you have the right sized bearings. The ID would seem to be too small if it won't go down and I've always known all said as to have the same size knobs and knob posts. I'm sure you ordered or bought the correct size but ...

Re: Megabass F7-76X VALDIVIA
Has anyone tried it with large spinnerbaits or 5 and 6 inch paddletails on jigheads? I need a new rod for jigs and plastics around cover primarily but it would also see some frog action and I need it to be able to fish large spinnerbaits at night and swimbaits on jigheads along with Carolina rigs an...

Re: Creating a new gear set- TD-Z
Tackletour did a shootout between the tdz and calais back in the day. The tdz won and gets my pick between those two also. I really wish they would make an anniversary edition or a tdz sv or something with higher than 6 ratio gears in it though. I'd think a faster gearset would sell like hotcakes. I...

Re: Help me pick a big spinning reel.
Also unless you are just dead set on a spinning rod the tatula sv is extremely rare to backlash even at night and great for skipping docks and trees with no birds best also. Another option would be a t3 1016 With an sv spool installed. It is the best pure caster for both distance and control I've us...

Re: Help me pick a big spinning reel.
I have a friend that uses only spinning tackle and he used a previous generation sahara 4000 on a 7ft compre med xfast. I've used it a few trips just to try it and the 4000 is just too big for my comfort for chucking all day. I normally use 2000 size daiwas on my ml rods and 3000 size on my medium a...

Re: Best rods under $50?
I'd look on ffo-tackle.com, tacklewarehouse's sale items, wal mart clearance racks, and locally on Facebook and Craigslist to see what I could find deals on. Fri usually has some great deals. I haven't looked in a few days but they usually have Abu veritas and Fenwick ing and hmx for right around 50...
