Re: Who is using BFS casting gear for trout/panfish

Something I suggest for budget BFS is buying a Daiwa T3 for cheap (like 120 bucks or less) on auction sites or wherever and then selling the RCS 1016 spool it comes with for 50-55 bucks. Then slap a DIY spool in there. It may cost slightly more but, I think the versatile spool size opens options and...

Any updates on this series? Looking at the 7'1" H. 1/4-2oz lure rating seems nice.

Re: SV103- too smooth?

Just checking, because I'm not well versed in Daiwa, but you guys are talking about the Zillion SV103? Right? Is there a Steez SV103 too? Neither. They are talking about the SV103. It came out the same time as the SV105. The SV103 is based off of the original Zillion frame. The SV105 is based off o...

Re: Upgrade Steez A 6.3:1 to 8:1?

Really depends if you are going to use the 6.3 gears at all. Depending on what you can get an 8.1 for, it may be worth selling the 6.3. If you say fish plastics n the summer and tend to fish slower moving baits in the colder months, keeping both may be best because you can pop the 6.3 gears in for c...

Re: SV103- too smooth?

Both my SV103XSL and my Steez SV TW are smooth. Shoot, even my Alphas SV reels are smooth. The Steez is nuts but my SV103XSL is right there with it.

Nothing touches my 12 Antares. Beyond smooth.

Re: How fast is too fast?

I was using my zillion sv tws 9.1 last week to flip jigs for largemouths on leech lake. I ended up hooking several eater pike in the 26-30 inch class daily and never felt like i was having a torque issue, this was also fighting the fish in reeds and millfoil. You're a better man than I, Charlie Bro...

Lengthy thread that has plenty of options for your SV103.

Good luck

NFC Blank Rating

I am looking to build a rod similar to the Kistler Helium 3 MAD (at least in my head). I am looking to build a moderate punch rod. I'm looking to get a NFC blank. I'm eyeing up the HM Flip 764-1, HM Flip 765-1 or the HM 766-1. From what I've understood so far, NFC blanks are generally less powerful ...

So when you almost spool your line on a cast, you can retrieve it all in one crank of the handle?

Yeah, about 12 cranks
