Re: What is the Tatula SV of rods?

I took a bit of Japanese back in the day.

Tatula is Japanese for "bang for your buck"

Re: Concept Z initial impressions. Did I expect too much?

This is why our reviews take the time they do to show up on the main site. We take the time to fish the product before making any judgements. I do the same. Good can turn bad after a bit of stress. But this reel is not very refined....that won't change with time. It is also a fairly noisy caster. A...

Re: YouTube EnjoyFishing !!!!

I think people may not think about relative weights vs wind resistance. A spoon my weight 3/16 of and ounce or a balsa plug weigh the same, but there is a considerable difference between the “castability” of the two lures. For most people even with spinning tackle accuractly casting a #5 Flotaing R...

Re: Deep Cranking Reel

The Zillion TWS is a good choice. I have a 12 Antares 5.6 and that is awesome. I am not usually a fan of Shimano reel but, the Antares is a lure slinging, smooth operating, piece of work. Super smooth and power for days. I put a 96mm handle on it and I have no problems with deep cranks. The smoothne...

Re: YouTube EnjoyFishing !!!!

I see him using a calcutta conquest bfs with an m-aire mb 63 mc, which is a boron infused blank. Very expensive... in fact he uses all high end tackle. To break down the rods designation mb=boron, 63=6'3'', mc= medium casting. I think his lures must range 2 - 14g 4-8 lb test. This is a trout rod an...

Combine the 2 choices and get a Steez Racing Design. Absolutely sick looking rods.

I do however want to try a Gan Craft rod.

I got a Conquest from The Tackle Trap. Sweet rod. I only have used 1 Megabass rod so far, the X7 Destruction. The Megabass bait monkey has been trying ever so vigilantly tugging at my wallet though.

The Zillion HD is not compatible with the other 2. The Steez SV TW and the SV103 are compatible.

Re: ultra light casting rod?

I've got three Kuying Teton rods, that I was able to pick up during a sale almost a year ago. IMO, you don't really want the TTC 662, which is more of a "bass" BFS rod, using a 6'6" rod in stream tunnels is pretty tough, at least for me. The other two rods are more what might be term...

Re: Looking for a new BFS reel.

Alphas AIR is a great BFS reel out of the box. Can be found a tad over $200. I have used many BFS reels and I feel the Alphas AIR can hang in with the best of them. I really like the Aldebaran BFS (16) with a KTF spool but, after its all said and done, it's a lot more money for not too much more per...

Re: Daiwa 2018 SV LIGHT LTD-TN

Strange what Megabass didn't come with new reels yet. IP68/79 still listed as current models... Why ruin a good thing? Not necessarily ruin, I expected Megabass come up with own version of the new Steez TW/ TW A reels. Yeah, hopefully they remove the TWS system when they do. I agree, the stee...

Re: Using a brand name when describing another brand

I totally understand your "too much time on my hands" deal. My youngest went to school for a year in Toronto, and, even though I was living in SoCal at the time, I got cold just looking at her pictures of winter there. When you have to build covered pathways from one building to another, ...
