Re: NEW Reel Cranking Upgrade

nice.. never got an antares, prefer conquests. Hope we get a refresh with the smaller frames in the future. I've fished both. I like the Antares for 1/2oz and above. The Conquest can cast surprisingly light stuff. I just can't STAND how I palm the Conquest. I use like a claw grip and I put my point...

Re: Long distance spool for sv103

You could always do the RCS 1016 (from the T3). Good spool for distance and control.

Re: Tatula SV TW bearing upgrade help/guidance

Thank you good people. I still feel a bit nervous and gonna wait after the holiday to try it. anyone know of any guides with pics or videos of it being done? I checked all of Youtube and didn't find one. Also just as an FYI, the popular bidding website has a $15 coupon for orders over $75 today usi...

Re: megabass hein vs 852C JWR

I meant to say 3/8oz total weight lol. I ended up calling the tackle trap and was convinced on the new shimano gloomis conquest rod 842c mbr. I'll see how this rod performs as a finesse stick, but it will probably take over my nrx 853JCR as my general purpose jig rod. Thanks to the guys at tackle t...

Re: Is 1/8th ounce considered bfs?

Red Pill...yeah Blue pill...no Depend on your frame of reference. I cast 1/32oz heads with tiny ice fishing plastics. I also LOVE casting those UL Rapala lures. I personally would say yes but, I also factor in the equipment used. If you have a lighter powered rod and a bait casting reel capable of c...

Re: megabass hein vs 852C JWR

To those who have used both, which one has more backbone? Looking for something with a tad more backbone than the NRX 852c. Will be used for the Texas rigs in the 3/16 to 3/8oz range

I remember that. Felt like a great rod (never fished it) but, I could not choose it over the Archangel, which is now sold ](*,) . I am using a custom K2 714 at the moment for T rigs.

Re: Is the Zillion SV TWS noisy like Tatulas?

Good deal, I hope I will get lucky and receive a Zillion 9.0 that's smooth, I have not had good luck with JDM Shimano's ](*,) I think I will wait to see what black Friday sales show up before hitting the order button... still a little shy on the JDM stuff having been burned three times and needing ...

Re: New Loomis GLX 853c

With some of the NRX prices I've seen, you can get an NRX for about 390 bucks brand new.

I am also eyeing up either the Conquest or NRX in the same range. (7' 3 power).

Re: Is the Zillion SV TWS noisy like Tatulas?

I own 2 Zillion SV TW reels, both are VERY quiet, I would even guess I can hear my Chronarch MGL just a TINY bit more... I fish with a friend who has an arsenal of Tatula's, old, CT, CT-R, SV, etc. One or two were a bit geary, but after maintenance (done by a shop, I figure they just added grease) ...

Re: Phenix PHX-C682 = BFS rod

I feel the taper plays a factor as well. I have a blank that is rated 1/32oz ot 1/4oz. The taper is extra fast and there is NO way that rod will cast 1/16oz plus a small Ned trailer. The weight of the plastic is a huge contributor to the ability to cast. They weigh a lot more than people think. Once...

Re: Phenix PHX-C682 = BFS rod

Custom would probably be your best best. Even a rod rated for 1/16oz can struggle with that weight. I have a lot of time with the 16 Alderbaran BFS and with the stick spool, it is not going to launch 1/16oz baits like you want...unless you have a UL moderate rod. I use a custom Phenix Mirage and cas...

Re: Bantam1, can we get a flipping reel please?

I would be very interested in an updated 50/70 size. Would like to see an aluminum framed, MGL spooled, micro geared, 50/70 size reel. Actually wouldn't even care if it was a composite frame like the Chronarch MGL, still very impressed with my first Shimano, just wish I could somehow hybridize the ...
