Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods

Cool, thanks guys! It sounds like I should be looking at the CNQ 842C if I want to upgrade or the 853c GLX if I want a more lateral move. I need to get the CR723 GLX some more time on the water before I make any moves, but if it can cover the presentations I use the 783c GLX for then I think the 78...

Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods

How does the Conquest 843c compare to a 843c GLX? i have not fished the newest version of the 843 GLX but have fished the classic GLX 843 and GLX 783 (still my favorite spinnerbait rod) and NRX 843. hopefully Gary can compare to the newest version. the CNQ 843 in my hands seems more powerful than a...

Re: Long distance spool for sv103

Picked this up and cut foam to fit the compartments. I also added some type of foam tape to the top of the lid. They don’t move when the lid is closed and it’s pretty sturdy. https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/150x100q90/922/GYWznE.jpg Cool idea, thanks! I think I still want something smaller to ho...

Re: Long distance spool for sv103

Tried out the sv103 stock spool with alphas sv inductor and hlc spring. Certainly less choked than the stock inductor and slightly faster. Might have to try the g1 slp sv after all. I did some spool testing the other day in my steez sv tw. The zillion G1 1016 sv spool was a better overall spool vs ...

Re: Frog Reel search

Either way, The Tackle Trap will hook you up. If your Metanium DC is on good shape, you could fetch decent cash for it and, should pay little out of pocket for either the Bantam or The Tackle Trap custom 9.1 Zillion.

Re: How long for my new xXx to come in?

Update. After emailing with gary at tackletrap and he is outstanding, he knew my tournament trail starts in the end of april and with me being worried he and I came to an agreement that was fantastic. For a couple bucks more he found a destroyer addermine demo and shipped it right out. I have no mo...

Re: Frog rod

Could always do a Orochi XX Tour Versatile. That's what I'm using. The Tackle Trap got them on sale.

alafly wrote:No weight for conquest rod yet? :crying:

Conquest 843c: 110gr/3.88oz

Megabass X7 Destruction: 135gr/4.74oz

2013 Orochi XX Tour Versatile: 168gr/5.92oz
I was surprised by the Tour Versatile weight. Feels much better than that in hand.

Re: Frog rod

Just try it out. I once used a 7' medium moderate Carrot Stix rod and it worked.

Kingpin wrote:What does the SV do or not due? Do they both have a brass gear? I better do some searching now.

1016: brass gear, smaller size, SV spool.
1516: bigger (Original Tatula size), brass gear, deeper non sv spool.

I punch with the 9 1 1516 and use the SV 9.1 for jigs

Re: Frog Reel search

Zillion TW (non-SV) or Bantam. Brass gears will help. I enjoyed the Zillion TWS in the 9.1. Speed and power. It's also built like a tank.

Re: Rod for Bantam (MH)

Tackletrap still has the megabass xx tour versatile in stock, on clearance for $199... Yup. I picked one up on sale. Pretty nice rod. Its got a lot of backbone and a nice tip. I think it wouldn't be ideal for the lighter jigs you want like 1/4oz but, could work. I plan on having it to throw frogs, ...

Re: Rod for Bantam (MH)

Check out either the original Tatula line or the Elite line. Great rods for the money. This. Look around and you might even score a Zillion. Yea I heard the Zillion rods can be found cheap. Do most all of these hold up and have fair warranties? I have yet to send off my higher end rods, and the few...

Re: How long for my new xXx to come in?

Trust me, once The Tackle Trap gets the rod, it will be at your door no more than 4 days. Them guys are super quick about shipping. Rods are packed well too.
