Thanks for correct me / clarify!

Hah, in case of Tsurinouya Ares: tip = rod itself :) Obviusly same for Trout Master..

But then those are really light! Kuying Teton SUL = 72,5 g...
That is correct

Re: Short BFS rod

The Ares is solid all through the blank. The 2 piece design connects at the reel seat. Basically, the whole blank is solid carbon

Re: Short BFS rod

Thanks for reply! Yep, you have turned me also to Ares, and yes, lightest baitcasting fishing is very nice hobby! But still I’m in the middle of should I bought Ares or Master, and I try to clear out this :-) I’m thinking if I buy Ares, would I still think I should bought Master. And if I’m going t...

Re: Short BFS rod

I have had the Ares for years...before it even had a model name hahahaha. I absolutely love it for streams. It can handle 1gr lures with ease. The loading is more predictable/natural than a blank with just a solid tip. That is because from the reel seat to the tip is solid carbon so, no transition f...

Im not too picky. I do like the LiveTarget series. Soft, decently durable and, a variety of sizes.

Re: Is Daiwa becoming a Tatula???

''OMG Daiwa is lacking so much pink in their reeels''. ''OMG Daiwa pleaaase make a soft masculinity reeeel''. Come on... The 4.9 ratio Daiwa Catalina TWS has some tasteful pink accents...and that reel is meant for buisness with the 4.9 gears and 100mm handle plus power grips... :-k ...maybe the low...

Re: Dream Jig Rod Build

I will be building up a 736 SJ X-Ray that I'm hoping to use for 1/2 oz jigs. I'm using the G2 carbon split grip with a CCT real seat and torzite guide train. The running guides will be a combination of size 5 and 4.5. I plan on epoxying the butt cap last and will add some tungsten if it doesn't bal...

Re: I don't use spinning gear at all. Do you?

I use spinning gear for bush fishing. Been doing more and more of it. There are some nice hidden spots if you are willing to machete your way to them. I prefer short BFS gear for bush fishing. The one handed casting is really nice in that thick brush. I cast spinning gear with one hand. Is that not...

I will add that dropshotting does feel better with a spinning reel to me.

Re: Daiwa Alphas Air TW 2020

Got the reel yesterday. Went for some trout fishing with 6lb invizx and a kuying Teton 662l (2-10g). I mostly fished upstream with 2.7 to 4.5 gram spoons and spinners, which gave dozens of small trout. Also used an Illex/Jackall Tricoroll 56MD-f downstream briefly to capture a larger sea-run trout....

Re: Daiwa Alphas Air TW 2020

I fished a friends one lately and am quite disappointed with how it palms - rod tip down I place my index finger on the chin piece - wasn’t comfortable, just like the Tatula CT / zillion sv tw frame. His Steez CT was super comfy tho. Daiwa knows how to upsell 🙄 So it plams worse than a normal Alpha...

Re: Short BFS rod

Rods with "BFS" have pretty stiff backbones and look like M powered rods from stripper guide to the butt and are often times even more rigid that many M powered rods in the back half of the rod. My L and UL Volkey sure are. Guys will buy BFS sticks thinking that "BFS" just means a casting rod that ...
