Re: Reviews out on new 2018 Ryoga?
The Conquest doesn't share the exact micro gears as the Bantam does it? Another interesting question I haven't had answered is whether the Daiwa Hyper Mesh gears are closer to the Tier 1 Shimano Micro (Bantam, Metanium, Chronarch MGL) or closer to the Tier 2 Shimano Micro (Conquest, and I assume An...

Re: Reviews out on new 2018 Ryoga?
How do these feel compared to say Shimano Conquest Calcutta? The Conquest 100 (5.2 ratio) is smoother out of the box no question about that vs a Ryoga 1016-CC (5.4 ratio) The funny thing is the Ryoga retains it’s smoothness longer. The Conquest & Bantam PG felt a little geary after couple of trips ...

Re: Bantam MGL Who has their hands on one?
I'm Very interested on this reel. Checking out the schematics and it Look like a tank. Im a bit concerned about the O rings used. Experienced on some reel knobs that deteriorate after a few years of use Can those be removed (spool shaft) and also can it use normal bearing (no o ring) ? I tried remo...

Re: Bantam MGL Who has their hands on one?
After 2 full sessions with it alongside my metanium MGL, my bantam required different settings on the inside and outside dial as compared to the metanium MGL. For example, I set my metanium MGL on 2 brakes internally and on the number 3 on the external dial to cast the OSP Blitz Max DR (this is my o...

Re: Bantam MGL Who has their hands on one?
My question is the opposite, whether those spool bearings can be put in other reels. Maybe it's also to dampen the spool/bearing vibrations. I’ve not tried to fit it on other reels yet. I will get to fish my Bantam MGL beside the Metanium MGL in a couple of hours, so maybe I will get a better impre...

Re: Where are the shimanos?
The man has spoken. Excellent pictures! Seems like a zpi pentagram bfc star drag will compliment your new reel nicely! Now its a problem for me since both are identical in performance. But I can't resist red tuning parts on my reels. Might just have to get another. Read somewhere the limited spool h...

Re: Where are the shimanos?
Nice review bootytrain. Was just thinking of removing the spool on the bearing on my ktf spool so it will run on a single 730 and 1030(micro bearing) not sure it it will work. It seems to spin and crank fine without that bearing on the spool shaft. Havent got to casting n retrieving this combination...

Re: New BFS setup
This is the NC-65L, the lightest model in the series.
At 129g, it isn't exactly a very light rod when it's rated for just 1/8-1/4oz lures but it balances perfectly with a reel weighted 160g and below.
Cheers!

Re: Show off your BFS Casting Reels
did you weigh it with the bearing and the SVS system on it? Am curious, because I want to get my own, and am oscilating between this and the Hedgehog ported one(the Hedgehog seems to have very little line capacity, and would lean towards this one) The SVS hub adds 1g +/- to the total moving mass. T...

Re: New Aldebaran and Metanium DC small pics and specs
Wonder if you can buy just the top plate and replace it on the Metanium? Looking at the reel schematics on my Metanium HG, the top plate is the part of the one-pieced frame which is not detachable. Unless u are prepared to shell out on the frame of the 15' Metanium Dc just for the new ultra cool co...
