FYI,
I have the newer GLX 842 model. If that matters.

Re: G. Loomis MBR 842 GLX
I'm the opposite. I caught several fish throwing lipless cranks on my GLX 842. I guess I feel more comfortable about not pulling the hook when I apply more pressure on the fish with it. I have the GLX 843 too.i guess it also depends on what type of cover your fishing too. I just bought a tatula elit...

Well, It's a done deal! Just ordered two rods. An NRX852S and the NRX893C. I want to give a huge shout out to Gary and the fellas at TACKLE TRAP for a great deal! And for their constant professionalism and advice! FYI, Tackle trap is having a huge sale on the Megabass Orochi XX rods too. 100.00 doll...

Re: Which G. Loomis GLX Dropshot Rod
It's a dropshot rod for me only. Now having said that, I like to throw grande bass baby snakes on a trokar finesse hook or roboworms. My brother also has the same rod and the older Shimano crucial dropshot rod. He goes more to the GLX now just because it has that much more backbone to it. Especially...

FYI,
If those rods are sold out. Don't be afraid to call Kistler(Trey). I'm sure they would work something out for you!

Re: Want to buy one super high end rod - which one should it be?
Just rechecked my email. It's 30% on Kistler rods over 249. 40% off on rods over 499 and 50% off on rods over 999.

Re: Want to buy one super high end rod - which one should it be?
Go with whatever DavidSA recommends! I have the Kistler HE3 7'3H xfast that he mentioned because of him! It's a very versatile rod and really nice too! I also have the new GLX 844. I know it's different than the Nrx version( more backbone). Kistler is giving some good discounts right now too. I beli...

Re: New Loomis GLX 853c
I have the GLX853c. I use it for 3/16oz texas rigged baits along with 1/4oz-3/8oz jigs. I agree 100% with Mike son's response to a tee! I have it paired up with a chronarch mgl xg and sniper 12lb flouro! One of my favorite setups! Where Mike son mentions going up to possibly to the GLX854 if your fi...

Re: Anyone give an updated comparison GLX893 vs NRX 893
Thanks for the info! The Nrx still has a softer tip than the newer GLX's. But, the GLX tip has definitely gotten softer than the previous generation with more flex a little further down the blank. But, still has a nice butt section to it!

Re: Loomis GLX 852S vs. NRX 852S
Thanks cndbasshinter! But, I'm not going anywhere near the Conquest. Not trying to spend that much money right now on one rod. And I'm not trying to buy one and get spoiled(ruined). Because, I just bought 6 Loomis GLX's this year and 3 chronarch mgl's and a Daiwa sv103. So, I spent a good amount of ...

Re: Anyone give an updated comparison GLX893 vs NRX 893
DavidSa, It's right up there with the GLX's. I think the GLX is a little more sensitive though. But, they are two very different powered rods. I use my GLX 853c mostly for 3/16oz Texas rigged baits with 12lb flouro. It's phenomenal. The H3 is much more beefier rod and I use 14lb flouro on that. Not ...

Loomis GLX 852S vs. NRX 852S
Has anyone handled both of these rods yet? The newer GLX version of this rod(2016-)? I plan on throwing 4"-5" senkos, tubes, keitech shad impacts and 1/4 ball head grubs too! Im sure Bronzefly can give a review? Unless hes dropped everything for the Conquests?

Re: Anyone give an updated comparison GLX893 vs NRX 893
By the way DavidSA, I bought a Kistler HE3 7'3 xFast because of your recommendation on here a few months ago. Used it last week. Very nice nice stick and super sensitive. I did miss a bunch of fish though. I was throwing a 1/4oz keitech tungsten jig with a 3" rage craw. I was pulling the hook out.Wa...
