Re: What is the ultimate 1/2oz Jig combo?

I have a few of the new z bones on the x ray blank the medium hey is great for 1/2 oz jigs I have the 7,6”. The medium light heavy is an awesome rod for the lighter stuff 1/4 oz ish t rigs or 3/8 oz baits. The 5 power hey would be great for 1/2 oz and up these are great bottom contact rods but I fee...

Re: Best Jig Rod for $200

im with bigguy I have rods throughout the price spectrum with some conquest, nrx, us destroyer, kistler z bone 2019s in the higher bracket but the shimano x pride 2017 models and kistler heliums hold their own no doubt throwing jigs. I find ill pick up the exprides and helium over the higher end com...

Re: It’s 2018, why are you buying reels from the past

I like the old platforms made in Japan a lot so every so often I’ll buy older reels I just ordered a d7 from ttt. I’m also afraid of spiders all the new Daiwa have them crawling all over them

Re: Bantam MGL reviews?

i have five of the bantam mgl reels that i have had since the release date. I have used them on almost every outing ive been on in some way or fashion and love them. At first i let the line guide get to me as in it was to close to the spool so the casting was ruined, but honestly i have been able to...

Re: Best Swimbait Rod

I have one of the imx pro series rods the 956 which would be good if you like a long full grip style rod. But for the weight range you mentioned i would get the megabass t.s. destroyer black jack . I also have this rod and it is great!! for the weight ranges you mentioned and the taper is awesome as...

Re: 2019 kistler z bones in stock

Yeah I checked the custom page out as well might be the next one I get especially because they have a full grip option and the larger guide option available. The one I had in the box ran 645.00 lol

Re: 2019 kistler z bones in stock

I love the Fmj for pitching to docks and wood with jigs and creature baits in that 1/2 oz range . The rod is capable of fishing heavier weights no doubt but I feel from what you listed the z bone will be better suited I like throwing skinny dippers and rhythm waves on the z bone moderate taper.

Re: 2019 kistler z bones in stock

Yeah same I didn’t weigh the rod but I could tell it was more heavy I feel like the Fmj is lighter def more balanced I feel. The spinning rod is super light though

Re: 2019 kistler z bones in stock

After playing with both rods for almost the whole day except for trying out the z bone spinning rod. In my hands the kistler is more sensitive all around than the fmj. This being said though the fmjs balance point is better than the kistler 7'3 hvy I will keep the fmj for the fact of its pitching ab...

Re: 2019 kistler z bones in stock

I cant really say it is 100% more sensative than the fmj. I do have tuesday and weds off work so ill put the same reel on both rods and line and go cast some baits in the same range. ill do a 1/4 oz t rig 1/2 oz jig and 3/4 oz jig or t rig to see the comparison. I have braid on the kistler right now...

Re: 2019 kistler z bones in stock

I’m stuck in the boat with you Cristo I’ve always been a Loomis guy still am and the last two years has been many Megabass purchases and they have their stay in the quiver for sure. In all honesty it was hard for me to get the rod lol. I’m glad I got one it’s a great rod no doubt. If I was a serious...
