Re: Help with wire to mono knot

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBL94A4CHMI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pACN_KdViG8 just 2 examples, but they seem to have no problem tying directly to line. I tried many different main line types and lb, but none help but remotely close to acceptable levels, with most breaking at around 6-8lb. ...

Help with wire to mono knot

Im having a ton of trouble with tying mono (8-17lb) to a titanium leader (knot2kiny, 25lb), using an albright knot. I pinch the wire to form a bend, mono in between the bend, wrap 5-8 times around, back through the hole in the same way it came in. Wet the thing and pull. And it breaks. Always at the...

Re: Daiwa Zillion SV TW

The SV Zillion G1 spool is a gem. I use these spools in 2 of my Steez A's and Have a Steez SV G1 spool in my other Steez A and the Zillion spools have the edge for distance casting, the Steez SV spool has a deeper inductor cup. Just for clarification, the stock spool for 1016 sv tw zillion casts be...

Re: Reviews out on new 2018 Ryoga?

I think you're doing something wrong if you only get 60% capacity every time. I find it extremely hard to believe the 1520 spool cant even fit 100 yards of 40lb braid. mind to explain in detail on what is correct way to spool up main line to achieve 100% as per given spec? There is no way to be cer...

Re: Reviews out on new 2018 Ryoga?

received my Ryoga 1520H from Japan Angler yesterday (14MAY2018), here is my 1st impression about this reel: 1. super smooth, I could not feel any gear movement while rotating handle (under 0 load of course) 2. palming the reel, i've noticed those square thumb bar digging my palm, but much less anno...

Re: Concept Z initial impressions. Did I expect too much?

For me personally....Out of the big named reels.....Abu, Okuma, shimano, daiwa. There isn't a single reel in their line ups that oyu can't back out the spool tensioner all the way to a setting that allows for a slight bit of side to side travel. And set the brakes at a setting that will still cast ...

"Matt Baldwin3 days ago So in 20mph wind with completely subjective effort casting, your result showed a 1% difference in results and that is a win? You might want to talk to 13 Fishing and they can give you some tips on how to set up the Z because it is different than what you are used to...an...

Re: Concept Z initial impressions. Did I expect too much?

https://youtu.be/pYNEm4I6H8E?t=934 Remember this? big head-scratcher on so many levels Yeah, I don't know how in the world a dedicated BFS reel (SS air) can throw 1/8 oz only 70 or so feet, unless you choke the settings down so that it cannot cast freely. I have a reel with that same spool that can...

Re: Concept Z initial impressions. Did I expect too much?

Oh but im absolutely NOT implying its a bad thing. Just saying that its not worth writing XShip on the box when Daiwa had it forever and didn't even bother calling it as a feature. I agree, but it is a useful feature when compared to something like their S3D spool (increased stability and reduced v...
