All around spinning rod (NRX v. ST. C LE v MB Add)

I am looking for a rod to fit between 2 st croix LE (ML F and M F) with which to fish a broad range of finesse lures (senkos, tubes, neko rig ned rig etc). I plan on fishing braid to fluro (6-8#). That being said, all three are probably pretty awesome, but which would be the best for what I am looki...

Re: Time to Spool Them Up and String Them Out... Which Reel Is Best (part two)?

I was very excited to read this review. I even checked the site a couple of times between pt1 and pt2. That being said, I was surprised that there weren't categories for "skipping" or "windy conditions". Maybe those would be a good head to head pt 3 winner take all tie breaker. :big grin:

Re: Best Jig Rod for $200

The two "best" (most sensitive imo) that I have fished are: (1) Shimano Expride, (2) St. Croix - LTB. If I were looking in that range, I would also look at a Kistler KLX or helium.

Re: Best All Around Reel: Chron. MGL / Cur. v Tat sv / Zil sv

I'm a Daiwa guy, so I don't have an informed opinion of the Shimano reel's performance (though Shimano has always made a solid product). But I can say that the Zillion SV TW is among the finest reels I have had in my hands. The Tat SV is also a sweet reel and it gives up very little to the Zillion,...

Best All Around Reel: Chron. MGL / Cur. v Tat sv / Zil sv

I'm in a pinch (damaged reel) and need to replace the reel on a Destroyer Javelin with 15# flouro. I use it for a lot of techniques (moving baits / football jigs / pitching plastics). I also bring this rod with me on others boats - versatile - and bank fish with it. Now - what reel? I was going to h...

Re: Gan Craft Jointed Claw - is it worth it / colors

I did see the 148, but went with the 178. I'm looking for good fish (3-5#). Also, when pressed for numbers vs quality I'd rather have a shot at a truly big one than catch a couple extra 2-3#'s. There is also not that much of a size difference between the 178 and 148. 30mm is about 1" to 1.25" - if i...

Re: Gan Craft Jointed Claw - is it worth it / colors

It does sound like it's worth it (not that needed that much convincing). I saw the review and it is what led me to keep looking into the bait. I'm going to go with the 178 size - my thought is to draw out / catch bigger fish. I have the smallest size Swaver and want to go bigger. Any chance of naili...

Gan Craft Jointed Claw - is it worth it / colors

Nothing from I-Cast is really moving me. So, I'm going to get a bunch of baits and not feel guilty about it. I have been eyeing up a jointed claw; but given the $ wanted to get some more info. 1. Is it worth it - (i have an S-Waver like it / don't love it) will the GC get more bites and / or cast be...

Re: 16 Destroyer JDM v. 17 USA Destroyer

Thanks for all of the replies. They were all very helpful. I am looking to throw jerk baits with either the Hein or 110 special. The fact that they are the same blank takes it down to action / power. Is the Hein too fast or does the 3 vs 4.5 power soften it up enough to not drop fish? Does the Hein ...

Re: line type for Wakebait (MB - I Jack)

I did end up fishing it on Flouro. Not the right conditions - about 2' of visibility. But it's a super cool lure.

16 Destroyer JDM v. 17 USA Destroyer

Are the 17 USA Destroyers the same blanks as the 16 JDM Destroyers? Sorry if this seems obvious, but I can't figure it out with the "google". :big grin:

line type for Wakebait (MB - I Jack)

I am looking to try throwing some wake baits this year. I picked up an I-Jack and a few others. What type of line are you throwing your wake baits on? Fluor (i.e. like a square bill) or mono / braid-mono (like a topwater). Thanks for the help.

What color is this MB 110

https://megabassusa.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/VISION-ONETEN-1.jpg The link is to the MB homepage. If anyone knows the color of the bait at the top of the page (not in the "color ways" but the literal top of the page) and could let me know, it would be greatly appreciated. I thought it was HT IT...

Re: First look at Megabass Destroyer USA rods

I posted this question in another topic "what do I need", but given the amount of traffic this thread has, I thought I would post the question here as well. I am between the Daemos vs the javelin. I am about 50/50 as to each the three primary uses (in no particularly order) would be chatter baits / ...

Re: What do i "need"

It looks like I am between the Daemos vs the javelin. I am about 50/50 as to each the three primary uses (in no particularly order) would be chatter baits / spinner baits / skipping light texas rigs under docks. Based on what i've read, the Javelin may also be able to handle square bills and medium ...
