use of sharpie markers on soft plastics
I was wanting to know what most fishermen believe. Do sharpie markers leave an off-putting smell on soft plastics? I know there are fish attaractant in the form of a marker but they don't leave much of a real color on the bait, to me. SO, I was thinking maybe sharpie smell goes away in a few minutes...

Re: Daiwa Tatula T-wing replacemnt ...
Total was $27.25 - The only way to see if they would have done it for free would have been to pay for shipping the whole reel into Daiwa as a warranty issue but my reel is well out of the 1 year warranty period.

Re: Daiwa Spinning Reel Handles Problem
Thanks for your reply SAC. My Legalis works fine - cheapest of the 3 I've bought. I can't understand how they could overlook something like that on $100-$150 reels. As far as smoothness, they do feel great. I work in the reel section of one of the biggest retailers of Fishing tackle in the World and...

Daiwa Spinning Reel Handles Problem
Anybody else having problems with Daiwa Spinning reel handles not tightening up? I bought a new Procyon 6 mos ago and really wanted to like it. I brought it home and found that the handle (after tightening) was flip-flopping back and forth like the Screw-Nut on the other side was loose - but it wasn...

Re: Braided Line sticking to itself on the reel ..
I KNOW what You're talking about haha Yeah I've had my share of that No, I'm talking about the line sticking to itself After a cast, you can release the clutch and pull the line out and you periodically feel it poppin loose from the line on the spool under it. But I Don't believe it is from digging ...

Re: Braided Line sticking to itself on the reel ..
Yes, I think what you're saying is more accurately describing the problem I have rather than "digging in". I think it's not so much a problem in casting or pitching heavier baits but more so with lighter baits. That's why it feels like the braid is sticking to itself. I wonder if something slicker w...

Re: Braided Line sticking to itself on the reel ..
the braid is at least on it's 2nd year - well worn-in. As i strip line off the spool, the line catches and pops off every 6-12" until I clear the 1st 20' and it's not sticky underneath. And that would be consistent with the line being what I had used the last trip out, since I mostly pitch and flip.

Re: 10lb Power Pro and baitcast reels?
Sounds like "digging in" is more a problem of not having the base layer wound tight enough than what diameter braid is being used.

Thanks WVB, yes I know that braid can dig into itself but I wasnt sure that's what is happening. But, maybe indeed, it is.

Braided Line sticking to itself on the reel ..
It suddenly dawned on me the other day that sometimes my braided line sticks to itself on the spool making it hang-up when pitching or casting lighter weight baits. I noticed it on both Sufix 832 and PP. Has anyone else noticed this and if so, did you correlate a reason for this? I typically use 30 ...

When you say traditional build vs modern - can you explain the difference in what that means and how that translates to the end product? Thanks

Re: I need help with Avid X Spinning Rod
Why does St Croix offer both the Avid and the Avid X AND at the same price?
