Re: How do you balance your NRX (894c) rod?

Why do people keep buying these rods? Supposedly they are SO sensitive. The 853 I used left me underwhelmed, to say the least. Guess I was expecting it to shoot flares or sparks when a fish bit. i sold the 853 for the same reason. they're incredibly light even though the balance isn't great ...

Re: 2-Power High End Casting Rods?

REALLY appreciate you taking the time to do this. You answered all my questions. =D> \:D/ np. One more application to try: hopping little 2.4" Dark Sleepers. I did that for spots this summer and it's a ton of fun on this stick. i fish Lanier and it's pretty much all spots so it'll def give it a try...

Re: Which one?

I’ve got 20 Metaniums on all my rods EXCEPT my NRX 852c. I got a alde 30 mgl hg & it seems like that rod/reel combo was made for each other, good balance & stupid light

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?

I wasted money on 2 diff dobyns extreme generation models. Ended up selling them to a buddy, he fished them maybe 2 weeks before he sold them. Said his $150 Duckett micro magic was more sensitive, I definitely didn’t argue with him. Rod was dead in my hands

Re: Need a rod for a new-2-me reel.

I’d suggest the 6’11M poison Adrena on sale & that would put it right around your $300 budget. It’ll be a great match with the steez, they also have a 7’2M. I’d skip the Expride with it being so close to the Adrena in price, I like the Adrena lineup about as much as my nrx rods Can you point me to ...

Re: New Curado 70 mgl K

Wonder if I should take my Metanium 2020 mgl off my green nrx 893 for this reel, closest reel I ever seen to match that rod. I actually won a bfl with the curado 70xg on my 893, so I know what that combo is capable of

Re: Nrx 852c jwr

When I first got my 852c it was my go to rod for 3/16 & 1/4oz shakyhead, my hookup to land ratio wasn’t the best. The rod is soft & if you’re using light line, you can’t really hit them fish hard as you need to considering you having to drive that hook thru the worm THEN in a fish mouth. I had a 853...

Re: Favorite Aldebaran Model

Jdm alde 30 mgl hg. Holds plenty of 12lb sniper, weightless fluke in the summer & vision 110 in the winter. Mounted on a 7’2m 1st gen poison adrena, it’s just fun to fish

Re: New Poison Adrena

Caught a 5.3 largie on the 7’3mh Adrena this wkend. Rod was purchased for spinnerbaits/chatterbaits but I’ve been having great success fishin 1/4 & 5/16 t-rigs on it. It’s not as powerful as the Nrx 873 that I normally used, but I like it a lot more. It’s just a FUN “versatile” rod. I read somewhere...

Re: St. Croix Legend Xtreme 2020

They are the best rods I've fished and I have had quite a few high end rods including the NRX line that's mostly MEH to me. The Steez Bottom Contact AGS lost to the AGS Xtreme in looks and performance. I thought I was the only one that felt that way about the NRXs. I was not impressed with the 853 ...

Re: Any 2020 Shimano reel leaks.....

There’s a comparison video out in English on YouTube between the 16 & new Metanium (FAOS fishing). Using same 7’3mh duckett rod & 17lb floro, casting distance using a rattle bait & small swim bait on a jig head was said to be minimal between the two, maybe a small edge to the 16 model but the new mo...

Re: New Poison Adrena

Which model would y’all recommend for spinnerbaits and chatter baits? I got the 7’3mh & have been more than happy with both those baits, paired with 7.4hg metanium mgl. I was using a nrx 854c & the Adrena is a much better rod for those techniques. Been having good hookups with 1/2 rattle baits late...

Re: Any 2020 Shimano reel leaks.....

Has anyone received this reel yet? It’s almost taking so long that I’ve actually lost interest in it , lol. I know digitika or Japan lure shop has no stock. “FISH HOOK TERRY” on YouTube has the only unboxing I’ve seen so far, can’t remember what site he said he ordered from

New Poison Adrena models listed on TW

I see they’ve added a 6’10m glass model, 7’2m, and a 7’4H action to the lineup. Release date is March 21. I have the previous gen 7’2m & it’s a great vision 110 rod for me in the winter, then in the summer a awesome weightless fluke rod. The 7’4H is the rod I’m most interested in. Not saying I have ...
