Re: I've seen the light. low gear ratio for shallow cranks
It's easier to slow down with a fast reel than speed up (efficiently and effectively) with a slow reel. .02 Eh, I find slowing down with a fast reel odd with large resistance baits. No way I'd be cranking a 6XD all day on a 7:1 reel. Work smarter not harder  agreed,, but the op was asking abou...

Re: braid in clear water
use a thin 15# braid if you don't want lose lures.... top water isn't going to easily be lost unless your cruzing over some nasty mil-foil or something like that and your getting pulled into it on the strike..... anything fast moving youll get those reaction hits whether its braid or not.... but you...

Re: spoons for bass
Hopkins spoons are may favorite but they all seem to work. I don't use a swivel and get line twist on occasion…especially in current. Sometimes I like to take a dressed treble hook and slide it on the line then tie my spoon on…saw that on some video years ago…works good. Spoons can catch everything...

Re: toro winch owners
after a second outing it became very clear(comparing distance of cast with my 201i) that the toro winch will handle the lighter lures but the brake settings needed really diminish the casting distance...... thanks for the input and suggestions

Re: Son wants a low profile casting reel
Unfortunately the only t3 available are right handed Is website for TW out of date? The website reflects that they have the 6.3:1 T3 in a lefty but they're out of the 7.1:1. I haven't called to confirm. I thought the original post was speaking to the t3 ballistic for $109 ... mistake on my part......

Re: curado I vs curado e
There must be something up .. that is not normal to hear or feel knocking ... its probably the smoothest feeling of my curados. .. I had a similar problem with a g6 and it turned out the knob shaft had come lose at the handle

Re: 13 fishing cranking rods vs shimano
Got a chsnce to cast a dobyns crankbait rod yesterday. .. and handled my first full glass rod theday before that. ... I must admit the tc4 glass/graphite shimano has is truly a middle ground between all graphite or all glass.
