Facebook question

For those of you that have been on Facebook for years, there was a Facebook Page I think in Thailand or Malaysia or Vietnam or somewhere around there, and the guy re-did reel paint jobs. I'm pretty sure that is what he did except he went all out with OG looking sticker/graphics kits etc. His work wa...

Let me try, might be wrong though. To me heavier lures need less brake but light lure or non aerodynamic lure need more brake. Spool spin faster than the line being pull off for lighter lure thus more brake to control spool needed to not get over run off line vs spool speed.
Yup

Re: Some of my Megabass Lures

I think you need some megabass reels to go with this collection  I've have owned a couple different models of Megabass BFS rods over the years and a couple of Zonda 68's. One of the BFS rods was a Kirasami model that I don't regret selling and I owned 2 of the OG F2-60X Criffhangers that I do ...

Re: Bass Fishing Not Very Popular?

I spend roughly $75 to catch one bass per year on average , this is the total amount I spend on tackle ( rods, reels, lines, lures, hooks) divided on the total number of bass. I thought this was great about how much you spend to catch one fish. We are in the middle of March and I haven't been fishi...

Re: Ultralight Tools and Hardware

I have the Texas Tackle split ring pliers which I think are too large for the small split rings and I bought a pair of the Smith split ring tweezers and they are definitely better for the smaller split rings. Here are the small Texas Tackle split ring pliers compared to the Smith Pincette split ring...

Re: Cork reel grips

You could always buy an Avail handle for your Aldebaran from Hedgehog Studios and it will accept the Megabass knobs but I am not sure if it will come with the required shims and spacers.

Re: Any Panfish Enthusiast On TackleTour?

Thanks for explaining. I've never owned a solid tip before. I've heard they weren't as sensitive because the softer tip dampens some of the vibrations. That's one reason, I've never been too interested in trying one. I was fishing with little 1.5g jig heads with Panfish Magnet plastics and 3LB Snip...

Re: Any Panfish Enthusiast On TackleTour?

How do you like the solid tip compared to a regular tip? I've noticed solid tip rods are very popular in Japan. mrpao, I like what Hobie said about liking a solid tip if the solid portion bends with the tubular part of the blank. This one does not do that. The solid part goes all the way to the 6th...

Re: Any Panfish Enthusiast On TackleTour?

https://i.postimg.cc/bvs06rp3/IMG-4234.jpg John G, what rod are you using? It's a Shimano Poison Glorious 5'10"UL-S with a Shimano Twin Power C2000SHG. The S is for a Solid Tip. I realized that after I ordered it and I tried to get a refund from Japan Angler but I was told that it had already ...

Re: History behind the low profile casting reel...

I don't know if this should be it's own post, it's somewhat on topic- I'd love to see Shimano do a "re-issue" of the original Bantam. Visually the same, but with all the modern engineering inside. Modern cut gears, bearings, materials, etc. Looks like a vintage Bantam, feels/performs like...

Re: Shimano BFS oil

I was searching posts about Ambassadeurs a while back and I read where tincanary said that he is using Yamaha 80W90 Gear Oil on worm gears and how it really sticks to them and a plus is that it is also a marine gear oil so it's waterproof. I bought a quart and I have to say that he is 100% correct ...

Re: Any Panfish Enthusiast On TackleTour?

This is from I think the last time that I went fishing and it was in February. I'll be totally honest and say that with the UL tackle that I like to use, I would be happy if Panfish were all I caught all day long.

Re: Are we all poor?

I'm not exactly poor but I ain't rich either. I've bought plenty of fishing stuff last year and this year but I drew the line at buying an old Ambassadeur 1500C. A really nice one with the box and paperwork will cost an arm and a leg so I am not buying one. I only wanted a single really nice basic ...
