Re: BFS Fluoro vs Braid Pros and Cons

Personal preference. I only use braid for my pricey top water plugs. I made the mistake of trying to switch up and use 4LB Yo Zuri Hybrid for this and I lost a Siglett because of it. I know that I would have got it back if I was using braid. For anything that goes underwater, I use Sniper FC.

Re: A new pride and joy

Very nice. An ARMS is the only Megabass rod that I would want to own. =D> X2. I'm your huckleberry  Beautiful combo, congratulations!! If I did get one, I would definitely get one from The Tackle Trap. I did buy a 6’3” Kirisame BFS rod from you that I regretfully sold. If I ever bought an ARMS...

You should talk to aussiebasser if you have never been there.

Re: Your ideal BFS rod action?

I have never owned an XF UL rod but I do have a F so I wold say fast.

I'm assuming that you are talking about bass rods and not the whippy trout rods.

Re: BFS and Trout baitcast combos

Very tasty treats =D> I agree. Hmm Fenwick is a reappearing guest - I will have to look into those rods esp. if any of them are moderate/moderate-fast action suitable for treble hook moving baits. In my experience, all of the UL or L powered BFS rods that I have used are suitable for lures with tre...

4LB Yo Zuri Hybrid is slightly thicker than 7LB Sunline Sniper FC.
Your 6LB is probably thicker than 10LB Sniper.

Re: BFS Line Conundrum

Here is what Hedgehog Studios says about using the trout spool for the 15 Aldebaran BFS XG Limited. They are telling us to use a PE line.

Bought this on December 22 from Singapore and I have my fingers crossed that it gets here in one piece. I have owned one before, sold it and regretted it and bought another one. Now I need a reel for it. https://i.postimg.cc/G3TXtmPx/D7-D73-C83-3-A7-E-49-D8-A909-E911-E316633-D.png I've eyed t...

Re: What rod for someone who MAYBE wants to try BFS?

My first BFS rod was a G-Loomis CR721 IMX. Although it is not technically called a BFS rod, it is a L powered rod that easily tosses a 2.5g lure. It is 6’ in length and they can had found pretty cheap. I would buy a newer one because I think it comes with better guides than the older models with the...

Nice stick! I have found that JDM Fenwick's shorter rods, 6'4" and below, are as advertised in Power.
