I had a problem with the Palomar knot slipping with some 10lb braid. You can stop that by going through the overhand knot twice before finishing the knot. Its just like tying the double surgeon loop.

Yes, sorry about that. I was talking about the Omen.

Re: Any rods beat out the kistler klx for the money?
The envy is not in the same league as the KLX, black or green. That is in my opinion. If you want a $100 rod then the Omen is a choice. If you want a light weight, really sensitive rod that catches fish and can afford the $200+ price, then the KLX is a great choice. You have a KLX and know how good ...

If you bought your other KLX from Kistler you should have some points credited to your account. That will help a little bit.

Re: Vintage Reel
I have a Langley that I bought in 1953 that is very similar to the one shown. It doesn't have the extension on the back of the reel like the picture. In mine the main gear is all nylon. I was concerned when I bought it that the nylon gear would not hold up. I fished mine for years and the gear looks...
Re: Worms
Hi Scattergun2570, You have been missing out on a great way to catch Bass particularly in grass. If you are fishing heavy grass and want a 6" to 7" worm try Zoom Trick Worm in Black, Green Pumpkin or June Bug. One of these basic colors is a good place to start. I use to fish ribbon tails but found t...

Re: SI for Trolling Motor
Hi soulfisher,
Thanks for your input. I went with a Helix 9 DI rather than the side imaging.

Re: Seaguar Smackdown
Well we have to consider that the 20lb and 30lb Smackdown break close to rated strength. Most other braids break way over their designated weight.

Re: Your Favorite Discontinued Bait
My favorite all time best lure that is gone was the Bill Plummer Frog. The rubber band legs were just so realistic. I use to give them to friends who thought they were a joke until they used them like I suggested. There has been remakes during the years but not as good as the original. Frank https:/...

Re: SI for Trolling Motor
Hi toporanger,
Thanks for your response. I really appreciate it. Apparently not a lot of people use SI on their trolling motor.

Re: SI for Trolling Motor
What is going on. Lots of views but no one uses a SI depth finder on their trolling motor? I just want to know how they work on the trolling motor. I hope someone takes pity on me and helps me out.

SI for Trolling Motor
I have a Huminbird SI/DI/GPS on the console. I need a new unit for the trolling motor. Have not used SI on a trolling motor and wonder what you think? I fish Central Florida in shallow lakes most of the time. Sometimes I do fish a couple of river lakes with deep water. I need some information on how...

Re: Tungsten Bullet Weights
I have been using the Siebert Tungsten. I particularly like the Siebert Rocket Tungsten 1/16 oz weight. All have good color and well made. Never felt the need for an insert with the lighter weights.

Re: Hook and weight box
I have the Bass Mafia deep box. The partitions are adjustable but I keep my hooks in their packaging. With the deep box I can stand them on end instead of laying them down. I adjusted the partitions until I had them the way I wanted. Then I drew a diagram on the inside of the top that matches the bo...

Re: Been doing some troutin'!
No offense taken at your suggestion Frank....however, these are all recently stocked fish. Wv. Stocks them up to about 10 pounders, in surprising numbers....and typically, in waters where they likely wouldn't be able to reproduce, and even more likely wont have enough cold water and oxygen to survi...
