Re: Daiwa TD-Z ITO problems!

You can use super glue to fix it. I’ve had to do it to a couple of my Tdz’s. It’s a pretty common issue honestly.

Re: Steez A revisited...

I’ve tested 5 spools in my steez sv tw. I don’t throw light baits so all my testing was done with stuff in the 10-15g range. Stock Steez G1 1016 Stock Steez G1 1012 Stock Zillion G1 1016 Zpi PG Zpi M Steez 1016 and 1012 acted the same for me. Only difference being how much line they each hold. Dista...

Re: Steez A revisited...

Crazy how we all differ on things. I bought a pg spool to put in my steez sv tw after the great results in a tdz. In the steez I was very let down. Pretty finicky and not really any improvement over the stock spool. It was a flop in my eyes. The zillion 1016 sv was a good upgrade to both of those pr...

Re: Dialing In a Curado DC

Setting 2 and add about 1/2 turn more spool tension than the instructions say. That was my sweet spot and it was trouble free after that.

Re: Daiwa Kage

I have a couple of them and I was surprised on how light these rods were. I have the 8'H and the umbrella rig rod. The feel great in hand. The 8'H has a Daiwa Lexa 300H WN and the umbrella rig rod has a Tatula HD. I really like the feel of both of these setups. I will say the 8'H is pretty stout it...

The metal insert was removed from the housing and it was painted. I only fish fresh water and I have 2 others that are painted and so far they’ve held up for over a year.

Re: Td-z build

Nice! I have a basket case tdz all torn down ready for paint, was thinking a white pearl or metal flake... seeing yours confirms that is the color to go with. Thanks, Forrest. I went with this color because it was left over from a Plymouth Barracuda repaint. I’m very happy with how it came out thou...

Gary, this one is simple really. Some HH bits and 6.3 og steez gears with carbontex drag washers. Zpi be spool with sic bearings.

Td-z build

I bought the reel for the spool and then decided the spool needed a deserving reel, so I built one. https://i.postimg.cc/tgmjZzST/59-DC9-C6-A-0-FB0-40-E0-B7-D5-30347-EC89-DA5.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/NM9w1rSx/CFC2-FD17-DC0-F-403-C-9838-A237081-F525-D.jpg [url=https://postimages.org/] https://i.posti...

Re: Reel Seat Question

Yeah it sounds like we really do. This is the exact reply I was looking for. Was there something performance related about the rod that you didnt like, that caused you to sell it? No, not at all. It was a very nice rod. I bought the rod to be paired with a Curado DC and I sold the reel, so I the ro...

Re: Reel Seat Question

I'm looking at picking up an Expride sometime soon, and had a question about the reel seat. Is it comfortable? How does it compare to an ECS seat, and how does it compare to the new Megabass seat that you are seeing on a lot of their rods like the Orochi XX gen 2? It looks pretty similar to the Meg...

Those are old news to MB, and it’s doubtful they will go back to them. I prefer the ecs seat and the switch has made it so I’m no longer interested in any of the new MB rod offerings.

Re: buying bearings in bulk

Not all bearings are created equal, especially the cheap ones. I buy in bulk for handle knob bearings and I always end up with some junkers. No matter how many times I run them through the ultra sonic or what I clean them with. It’s of little concern since I can just toss them in the can and grab an...
