Re: Levante Spinnerbait Special

The 1st gen spinnerbait special is one of my go to rods. I like it so much that I bought a second when they went on sale. It balances well and makes a good multi purpose rod for a handful of different things. I would keep an eye out for one being sold used. eBay will often have them come up for sale...

Re: Long distance spool for sv103

Picked this up and cut foam to fit the compartments. I also added some type of foam tape to the top of the lid. They don’t move when the lid is closed and it’s pretty sturdy.

Re: Long distance spool for sv103

I keep meaning to try the Zillion G1 1016 in my Steez sv tw, but both of mine are loaded with heavier line then I would even use on that reel. I picked them up last time TT had then in stock and kinda regret not getting a third. I have used them so far in both a sv103 and a Ringa SSS and that spool...

Re: Long distance spool for sv103

Anyone done a comparison on the ZPI Pg vs the SLP g1 SV 1012 or 1016? I tested 3 spools in the Steez sv tw all in the same day over the course of 4hrs. The wind was 10-15mph so I didn’t try anything in the 1/8-1/4oz range but did throw a handful of baits from 3/8-1/2oz. The 3 spools were the Zpi PG...

Re: Long distance spool for sv103

Tried out the sv103 stock spool with alphas sv inductor and hlc spring. Certainly less choked than the stock inductor and slightly faster. Might have to try the g1 slp sv after all. I did some spool testing the other day in my steez sv tw. The zillion G1 1016 sv spool was a better overall spool vs ...

Re: Long distance spool for sv103

Everyone got me so scared of the "sticking" caused by the old black ramp that I had my SV105 fixed before it ever even stuck, didn't even happen one time. They fixed it though so now it never will, was in warranty so worth it to me. Now I just need to locate the inductor and spring, I kno...

Re: Long distance spool for sv103

I have an old SS/SV spool sitting around, not the lightest spool, but I am willing to tear into it without fear. Is there any inductor/spring combo that I could order for it? If I WAS able to add a 1016 Zillion SV inductor & spring shouldn't that increase the performance quite well??? It would ...

Re: Long distance spool for sv103

The SV103 has pretty strong magnets in the palm side plate. I’ve tested mine using a tdz r+ spool with a 1/2oz bait and I was very surprised as to how overly braked it still was. With loose spool tension I could still cast with zero thumb when having the brake dial on 3. On 2.5 it still required alm...

Re: Daiwa J-Braid x4 ?

I don’t mess with the x4 but I use the x8 on all my reels that I run braid on. In the past I’ve used power pro, power pro super slick 8, and suffix 832. I’ve had zero issues with the x8 in roughly 2yrs. I typically run #30 on everything and even used it for some pond froggin’ last summer. For me I li...

Re: Sv spool for steez A

Steez A uses a 34mm spool - any spool that fits Steez/Tdz/IS/T3 will work in it.

Re: Speed spool bearings

Bocas aren’t a bad bearing at all. The bearing cages are clearly different from the Chinese crap bearings. They definitely are not the same. Boca also has great CS and will take care of their customers if there’s a problem. I used to use them in all of my reels. I’ve switched brands now because I pr...
