Re: Conquest rod weights?

Not much difference in weight vs. NRX. 842c NRX=106g, 842c Conquest=102g. 843c NRX=110g, 843c Conquest=111g.
I'll have to weigh my Conquests when I can get to a good scale since they are now split grip like NRX. That extra cork probably added at least 7g.

Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods

Im loving my 782 and 842 so far. Really like the MBR tapers, will be buying more for sure. Hard for me to describe the differences in hand, but these rods are definitely a step up from NRX. Do you own the 782c? Or sjr? I'm looking for more info on the 782c. What do they weigh? Both are casting. 782...

Re: Conquest rods shipping

Is the Conquest line going to affect the NRX line at all? I know both lines have the MBR tapers but, is the JWR rods from the NRX line staying? Looks like NRX will be bottom contact(JWR series) and Conquest will be do everything, multipurpose type moving bait rods(MBR series). MBR has been disconti...

Re: curado 70 drag slipping

Should have no problems cleaning those old washers if they are carbon. Spray them down with some brake parts cleaner, then spray some in a bowl(outside) and drop them in for a short soaking. That stuff cuts grease very easily, and should only take a few cycles to get them thoroughly cleaned. I woul...

Re: Rumor? Curado K/Met. Drive gear Swap?

So any truth to the rumor that the Metanium 13/MGL and Curado K Drive gears might interchange? Thanks, Kurt The Metanium MGL/13 Brass Conversion Kits are in stock at The Tackle Trap! Here's a photo of a 13 Metanium getting the brass 6.2:1 conversion kit :D https://preview.ibb.co/fdB9bR/IMG_3658.jpg...

Re: What are you using to clean, lube, grease your reels?

I like TSI 321 for spool bearings, CorrosionX grease for internals, and CorrosionX spray for my anti reverse bearing. I try to keep it simple and cheap when making recommendations on cleaning supplies. Wipe off the excess grease on internal parts with a paper towel. Brake parts cleaner works great ...

Re: Flourocarbon leader

That's what I thought as well, but had a horrible experience using the Sunline leader material. Don't think I caught a fish on it because the line kept breaking. Went back to what I always used, Sunline Shooter in 16-20lb and never have had an issue with it. Stuff, strong and very abrasion resistant...

Re: Chronarch MGL

Can anyone share their recent experience with the MGL spool and salt water? How are the spools holding up when used for inshore fishing? Thanks- Not made for saltwater, so they will corrode. If you are in the market for a Chronarch for saltwater, go with the G. Same reel as the MGL, with a slightly...

Re: My hunk of junk kayak

Those kayaks aren't bad at all, a lot of guys using them around here. The plastic is a little thin, but will get you where you want to go. Pick up one of the cheap carts on Amazon or at Academy, and they make life a lot easier. They fold up and don't take up much space in the car which is a plus. I ...

Re: Great baits that noone talks about.

I started a thread a while back asking about lipless twitchbaits that seem to dominate saltwater flats, but not many are using them in the freshwater. Sebile Stick Shad, Rapala Twitchin Minnow, Mirrolure Mirrodine are a few examples on the market, and my buddy makes some out of wood that get bit lik...
