Re: The ultimate best combos for the following techniques

For the first 4 categories, I don't think you could go wrong with the 844 (7'H, 3/8-1oz) or 904(7'6"H, 1/4-1oz) Conquest rods. Super versatile moving bait and jig rods, could probably handle the deep diving crankbaits as well.

Re: Lucky Craft LVR D-10

They are very subtle lipless cranks, not a lot of vibration/feedback at all, but they catch big bass around here(Seminole) like no other. For Weed Cutter is right on, they rip out of grass better than anything I've used! The D7 is an awesome crank as well.

Re: Metanium mgl vs chronarch mgl thread

If you are looking for a reel to use in the salt, even just on occasion, buy the G. Spool is different, and will handle the salt which is why it was created. All other models spools will corrode and cause issues, even if thoroughly rinsed after use. I like my Metaniums performance, the spool holds u...

Re: Deep Cranking Reel

as long as you're not looking or a leftie. I mean, sure they made an E5 in the 301 size...but in the infinitely more popular 201 size, no E5 to be found (or made). kinda what I was getting at with my earlier comments. There was a Chronarch 201E5, which is a 5.5:1, that works perfectly for deep cran...

Re: How many rods?

Depends on location for me as well. Inshore flats, I take 3(jig, jerkbait, topwater), in the marsh I take 5(jig, jerkbait, topwater, crankbait, spinnerbait). At the lake I can take up to 7(2 chatterbait, 2 crankbait, punch, frog, jig/trig) but it depends on time of year. All rods are stored horizont...

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

Man, that is a Whopper! The NRC 842MBR is a sleeper rod for me, has the perfect tip for many applications. I even use mine for small scroungers, it really gets the light stuff out there. I agree, that tip is very light and loads nicely from 1/8-1/2oz. Rod works great with all types of baits in that...

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

What a great way to start the New Year! Made it out yesterday in the coldest temps we have ever had in FL, and pushed up a small creek looking for some speckled trout and bass. After catching several of each, I felt a solid thump on the Shadow Rap Shad. When I set the hook, thought I had snagged ano...

Re: Lucky Craft RTO Tiny Squarebill

Very surprised none of the finesse guys on here have been throwing this lure! It has been working great for my uses, and getting crushed by some redfish up to 9lbs with no damage yet. Not the easiest bait to cast into the wind, but casts well on my Curado 51Es and Abu Premier(Gen2) and STX(Gen3). Ev...

Re: Brand new PDL!

I've been working on this project for a while, and finally got it installed, so I figured I would share this on here. It was very difficult to figure out a mounting solution for the PDL, since the rudder and cables are in the way, and the kayak hull is very round at the stern. After going through se...

Re: Lucky Craft Flash Minnow

I bought all the 95MR's I could find when they were discontinued  Great lures for fishing above submerged vegetation that's nearly topped out. I did the same thing! Purchased 25 or so, and still have a bunch that I custom paint myself for different areas. Can't believe they discontinued the be...

Lucky Craft RTO Tiny Squarebill

Anyone throwing this bait yet? Used the 0.5 for years, and the redfish really crush these little cranks, so looking to try something new. It's definitely tiny, and at 1/10oz seems like it would be tough to cast with a regular baitcaster, but who knows. The 0.5 cast like a bullet on any reel, so Id l...

Definitely some great eating fish. Between bass and all the inshore species, there's no shortage of stuff to do in FL if you like fishing!

Are these using the same blanks for casting and spinning like the NRX rods?

Lucky Craft Flash Minnow

Looking for a little feedback on the Flash Minnow Tr95 Sp version. Wondering how it compares to the 95 Mr as far as depth, castability and so on. Are they still using a weight transfer system in these and how's the action? The Mr version would easily do a 180 with the right cadence, is that still po...

Re: Summer Fishing Comes to an End(pic heavy)

Nice job! Does the 842 handle those reds? I know they pull like a freight trane. Definitely, no issues with them. I even use it around the bridges for those bull reds, and the fun factor will put a smile on your face everytime. I throw all my jerkbaits and topwater on them, and usually only put it ...
