Re: Favorite Mid-Range Crankbait (8-12 feet)

Lucky Craft SKT DR. Deflects great, and has a tight action that works well any time of year. Close second would be the 1.5DD for those depths.

Re: Metanium vs Chronarch

Drag washers are also different between the 2 reels. Chronarch comes with carbon fiber washers, while the Metanium comes with the Dartanium washers. Really not an issue because they are both smooth, until those Dartaniums start to fall apart. I'd have to agree with the other posts though, if you are...

Re: Breaking open the Chronarch MGL

I'd say they compare nicely as far as smoothness. No idea how much it increases pressure though. I swapped to CarbonTex in one of my CI4s and really can't tell the difference. I wouldn't swap them out unless you are having issues like the OP was having. The Metanium comes with the old Dartanium drag...

Re: Breaking open the Chronarch MGL

That's the one. One question though, why swap out the drag? It comes with carbon from the factory that are very smooth. Looking for more drag pressure? What do you mean by carbon?Or did you mean to say it comes with carbon tex drag washers stock? They aren't CarbonTex, but they are factory carbon f...

Re: A.T.A.K. 120

A friend of mine has one, they are pretty sweet. Fast, stable and easy to rig. Also tracks well. Only issue I've seen is that they take on a lot of water in the hatches when it gets a little rough out. Didn't notice if that included into the hull itself.

Re: Lucky Craft RTO Tiny Squarebill

Hoping to bring this one back to life...I will say the .07's are fish catchers. Really wish the .05s would come back I need to try the 0.7's soon, look like good baits. It's a shame they discontinued the 0.5 and then release these sizes instead though. I have a bunch of 0.5s with broken lips that I...

Re: Gen 1 Revo STX Spool bent pin

I don't repair reels, so forgive a question from a person who doesn't know any better. I would have thought that the spool pin was harder than the brass pinion it engages. Won't the pinion be messed up, too? By the way, thanks for that great source for parts! I would say that you are correct, thoug...

Scrounger Style Jigs

Looking at buying more Scrounger style jigs to fill the box, and have used the Tennessee Tremor jigs in the past and liked them a lot. Only thing I didn't like was they did not have a bait keeper(most Scroungers do not for some reason) and hate dealing with trailers that slide down. Looking at the H...

Re: Gen 1 Revo STX Spool bent pin

I had a bent pin on my Gen 2 Revo Premier spool. Bought extras from Ereplacementparts and made my own tool to remove and install them.

Re: The ultimate best combos for the following techniques

For the first 4 categories, I don't think you could go wrong with the 844 (7'H, 3/8-1oz) or 904(7'6"H, 1/4-1oz) Conquest rods. Super versatile moving bait and jig rods, could probably handle the deep diving crankbaits as well.

Re: Lucky Craft LVR D-10

They are very subtle lipless cranks, not a lot of vibration/feedback at all, but they catch big bass around here(Seminole) like no other. For Weed Cutter is right on, they rip out of grass better than anything I've used! The D7 is an awesome crank as well.
