Re: Super Shallow Cranks
Lucky Craft has a large assortment of shallow cranks in their catalog. Search Lucky Craft SR and Lucky Craft SSR and you should find plenty to choose from. A couple I use a lot are their BDS1, Flat Mini SR, and LC0.5 and 0.7. I think the 0.5 gets overlooked a lot because it’s so small, but it casts ...

Re: 2024 Metanium DC
A couple points to think about regarding line capacity, mainly braid 1) Some lures in the 3/8-5/8oz range can really fly, and when it’s windy(20-30mph), you can quickly dump the whole spool when adding in the amount of line in the air. Might not be making 100yd. casts, but you can still have the maj...

Re: Light and Long Cranking Setup
Have no idea what the extent of the damage is, but if you broke the rod behind the reel seat, a builder should be able to fix that pretty easily so you can continue to use it.

Re: Finding a cracked guide ring
Spinning or casting rod? If it is a spinner could the bail assembly that feeds the line onto the spool be the issue or have a rough spot? Have you tried line from a different spool to rule out a possible bad spool of line? It’s a casting setup. Checked the line guide on the reel too. Other half of ...

Re: Finding a cracked guide ring
There are a few things I would check before replacing guides. How old is the line? Casting a heavy lure? Not breaking near that area of line correct? Did the line get stuck on anything or rub on rocks lately? If you are not seeing or feeling a crack my guess is its not your guides. Can you try a di...

Re: Finding a cracked guide ring
I'd say a good, old-fashioned magnifying glass and a bright flashlight would help. I use a small, lit magnifying glass with an articulating arm on my workbench now. My 50 yr old eyes just dont cooperate as well as they once did. Thanks Tim, I’ll give this a try. If you remember, this is the same ro...

Finding a cracked guide ring
Does anyone have any advice about finding a cracked ring? I have an 842 with size 4.5 Torzites and my line keeps breaking randomly with very little pressure(lines used were 30lb 832 and 30lb 131). Replaced the stripper and the tip so far, but the problem persists. Breaks usually happens well outside...

Re: Bad tackle thread (what to avoid)
Are these new or old? Saw them a while back and looked for some info and found nothing, only sold on one site and not on Jackalls website from what I could find. Much better design though, except for the grass catching slot  Just ordered more Break Blades though so I’m good for now \:D/ These ...

Re: Source for Pinion/Drive Bearings
If you are fishing freshwater, go on EBay and search for your bearing size. As long as they are stainless they will be fine. 10 packs are $20-$40 and they have held up great in saltwater, so should be perfect for fresh. I purchase from TRBRC. Shimano bearings are expensive compared to other sources.

Re: Zillion/Alphas SV TW Raspy after Saltwater Season
Just broke down a reel that was dunked 4 times in the last 1.5 years and still worked well  Some salt caked up in the side plates, but thanks to proper lubricants, no parts needed to be replaced. If anything needed replacing it would be frame bearings, so $15 for the 3 frame bearings and back...

Re: Bad tackle thread (what to avoid)
Thanks, very new. I’ve been looking but haven’t seen it on there before. They also have them on a site I use regularly these days, probably add one to the next order.

Re: Bad tackle thread (what to avoid)
Looks like the powers that be must have addressed the issue with the Break Blade. Apparently the new design is not going to 'break' as easily. https://i.imgur.com/ZrRzJPZ.jpg Are these new or old?
