Re: The Yeti Panga 28 Backpack - A Waterproof Fortress for all Your Outdoor Gear

Yeti used to include a small tube of some silicone type grease, and that stuff made it really easy to open, very slick. Then they changed to the chapstick stuff and it does lube it some, but no where as slick as the other stuff. I’m sure Yeti had a reason to change, but the old tube could definitely...

Re: Duo Rozante 77 vs Pointer 78, Minnow 80SP vs Flash minnow

The new TR95 SP Flash Minnows have been a great shallow water replacement for the 95MR. Not much movement on a straight retrieve, but can really dance when you start twitching it. Still does a full 180 easily, and suspends really well. The 85 size are super light and tiny, but cast well and sit 45 d...

Re: What rods compare to a NRX 852c ?

I’d like to add that I really did like the K2 rods, which is why it’s so disappointing that they break. First K2 broke midcast on the 5th trip out casting a Pointer 78. Rebuilt the rod(don’t get me started on customer service either ](*,) ) and same thing, 5th trip or so and it breaks mid cast with ...

Re: What rods compare to a NRX 852c ?

Id go NRX over K2 any day. Main reason is the 3 K2 models I’ve owned didn’t want to stay in one piece  while I’ve never broken an NRX or any other rod. Sounds like Hobie has been lucky, but I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. Buyer beware, plenty of stories like mine are out there.

Re: What is your prefered reel for jerkbaits

I’m loving my Stile SS HG’s for jerkbaits. Spend a lot of time with a jerkbait tied on and this reel has been very impressive, a lot of fun to use. I have used Metaniums, Aldebarans, Chronarchs, Cores, Steez etc... and this reel has quickly become my favorite for jerkbaits. Very small, light, alumin...

Re: What rod caught you the most fish in 2018?

Same as the last few years, my NRX 842c sees a huge amount of use every trip. Love that rod for everything I do inshore. 1000’s of trips and 1000’s of hours use and it’s still crushing big fish daily.

Re: Looking for a special offshore crankbait

Lucky Craft Moonsault is like a lipless with a lip. Very loud lure with different models for different depths. Different shape than the ones you are currently using, but it definitely catches fish. Agree with hoohoorjoo, the Bling is a really nice bait as well.

Re: Inshore Baitcaster for under $100??

Proper lubricants really go a long ways with maintaining these reels in the salt. That is exactly right! Proper lubricants is the key properly applied. Corrosion protection ahead of use goes a long way! Very much so, and so many companies have been doing a terrible job of it lately. Open it up when...

Re: Inshore Baitcaster for under $100??

The current Citica is a great reel for saltwater use and can be found pretty cheap. A little heavy, but built strong and cast lures over 3/8oz well. A Tatula CT would also be a nice reel to use for those same lures but also cast lighter baits pretty nicely. A buddy uses the CT for 3/8oz and below, a...

Thank you for the info, I’ll add them to my list. Really handy to have info like this when working on reels.

Re: Aerosal Spray for Cleaning Bearings

An aerosol spray usually will not dissolve or remove all of the grease I want out of some of my bearings. So brake parts cleaner, that is made for cleaning one of the most dirty parts of a car of baked on road grime, grease and oil off brakes doesn’t clean the grease and oil out of bearings? Plasti...

 Thank you sir, their colors are definitely bright in the winter! That’s a great thought though, they need to get more involved with the inshore market.

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

5.8 Rhythm Wave has become my go to this year for sure. Thought they would be a little big for trout, but that’s not been the case. Doesn’t look so big when a 8lb+ Speckled Trout eats it! Been throwing the same swimbait line thru rigged for over a month, caught over a 100 fish and still going strong...

I should have figured this had something to do with spools  In that case carry on. Id like to see some pics of what you came up with!
