Good review, and looks like you guys had a fun day. Check your pluses and minuses columns though, wrong lure.

Re: Chronarch G sideplate

Bantam will definitely have some options for you, especially if it is new. He went above and beyond to help me with this issue. Their warranty if nothing else will get you fixed up. Other than the one they replaced, mine were well past the warranty, so I had to use extreme measures, which of course ...

Re: Chronarch G sideplate

Have had this happen when using Chronarchs in saltwater. Never could get the side plates off, so I had to cut them up and destroy the side plate to get it off  That locking mechanism is troublesome, good thing sideplates are cheap. Even tried taking extra care to keep the parts that lock it dow...

Re: Thank you Shimano

Shipping has definitely tested many peoples patience this year. Little things like this mean a lot in times like this though. Sure wasn’t expecting it that quickly, and helps remind me of one reason why I’ve used Shimano for so long.

Thank you Shimano

Hey Bantam, Just wanted to say thank you to Shimano for going above and beyond to help out! Parts order got lost with FedEx, and after getting no answers from FedEx, I sent Shimano an email to see if they could help. Couple days later, UPS was delivering my package. Wasn’t even expecting an answer b...

Re: Shimano Aldebaran 51 HG handle backplay

:-k Wonder why the majority of reel techs use CorrosioX then?

Re: Shimano Aldebaran 51 HG handle backplay

One thing I would recommend is to try CorrosionX instead of TSI. Some ARB(anti reverse bearing) bearings do well with TSI, some squeak and slip on occasion. Since switching to CorrosionX, I’ve had zero problems with any ARBs.

Re: 200e7 Thumb Bar

Usually has something to do with the pinion gear not able to move. When fishing in the salt, the pinion bearing can corrode and stick to the pinion gear. Have also seen it occur from fishing in heavy rain. Could also be a burr on the pinion gear, but the pinion gear/bearing is where I would start lo...

Re: Scorpion 71 vs Curado71

Specs say Scorpion is 7+1 and Curado is 5+1. There are 4 bushings in the handle knobs on the Curado and one bushing for the Levelwind. The Scorpion comes with 2 bearings and 2 bushings per knob, and part numbers on the schematic shows this. Also has a Levelwind bushing. These bushings/bearings are a...

Re: Bearing number for an SLX drive shaft?

I had the same issue with one of my Stiles. After cleaning out the bearing cup and working with it for a few, it fit fine. Im thinking it had something to do with the paint thickness.

Re: The Yeti Panga 28 Backpack - A Waterproof Fortress for all Your Outdoor Gear

Yeti used to include a small tube of some silicone type grease, and that stuff made it really easy to open, very slick. Then they changed to the chapstick stuff and it does lube it some, but no where as slick as the other stuff. I’m sure Yeti had a reason to change, but the old tube could definitely...

Re: Noisy Curado 201HG's

The older version I never messed with, and could see it causing some headaches, but the new one is pretty simple. What would someone need to do to clean it if they didn’t have an Ultrasonic Cleaner, since you shouldn’t take it apart to get it truly clean? Thanks.

Re: Noisy Curado 201HG's

If you don’t feel comfortable running an ARB through an ultrasonic, pull the bearing out of the reel and take it apart. The newer ARBs in Shimanos have the plastic cage, and are very easy to disassemble. That plastic cage slides out easily, but be careful not to lose any of the rollers. I did this y...

Re: Noisy Curado 201HG's

where you source the pinion bearing from? Most places are selling spool or knob bearings only. And one more question, will chronach 50E or citica 200e pinion fit to core 100 ? I am having issue with core 100 being rough on retrieve and gears looks to be in good shape, so I suspect pinon or AR beari...
