Re: Scorpion MGL

Really makes me wonder what people are doing to their reels to cause this. I use nothing but 50 sized reels in the salt and catch plenty of big fish(jacks, striper, redfish) and never have an issue with my gear. My Stiles are based on Curado 70, with brass gears from a 70, and they have been bulletp...

Re: Any 2020 Shimano reel leaks.....

As long as they aren’t in a composite reel, the spools are fine in the salt.

Re: Custom Paints

Hope to post a few more patterns soon, just need to finish some things up. Currently having some writers...no, painters block on a stupid croaker pattern  Hopefully I can get it figured out and not mess it up to bad [-o<

Re: Custom Paints

Be sure and replace the filters in that gas mask. Activated charcoal filters continue to filter as long as they are exposed to air, so they will lose their effectiveness after a while. Thanks Mark, will do. Will research all the precautions necessary to stay safe and healthy before experimenting wi...

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

Stuck a few studs on the river last weekend. Ripping some chatter through the grass, feel that thump and set the hook into a truck! Water depth was only 1-2’, so the big ones really put on a show with the long hard runs and wallowing around on the surface! Then you also have to fight through the gra...

Re: Jerkbait Rod/all around Rod

Love my Conquest 842’s for jerkbaits, and many other things. Fish this rod more than any I own, and it can handle some BIG fish. I love all versions of the 842c, but the Conquest has been amazing. Ultra sensitive for those long pause bites, perfect action and recovery rate for ripping fast or slow. ...

Re: Braided line bad for your rods and reels?

I’ve been having a few issues with Torzite inserts popping out. Never happened in the past with Alconite or SIC with same leader knot, all Fuji guides. A little superglue and good to go, but still annoying. Only problem I’ve had with any of my equipment using braid.

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

Never know, a new PB on a memorable trip may have been worth it, but definitely understand wanting bigger!

Re: Custom Paints

I wear an issued military gas mask that a friend gave me. I have a ton of spare filters for it too. So far zero issues with it and the filters seem to do a good job. Plus my eyes aren't exposed to any of it. Its been pretty durable against hook rash, well depending on the hooks. My offshore stuff g...

Try adding a coat of clear nail polish in the hook rash swing path. It really helps cut it down, and it's easy to add more when it starts to wear through.
Thanks Mark! Great advice, I’ll give it a try.

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

I’m not a big flounder fisherman, but do fish for them on occasion during the fall. Haven’t fished for them specifically yet this year, but have caught the 2 biggest flounder of my life this month. First came on a chatterbait, and this one came on a Flash Minnow 95. Ripping it at warp speed looking ...

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

Made it to Lake Bacarrac with four friends Robert Perez, Noah Arroyo & Justin Bell as part of Wayne Campbell's Swimbait Universe group. 21 guys in the group so we had a full house at the lodge for 5 days of fishing & fun. The trip offered an incentive to the guy who caught the biggest bass with a f...

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

This is the best fish I've caught this year. I usually get one close to or at double-digits each year, but I have no complaints! I lost one on a jig last week around the same size, and was thinking I might not even get over the 5# hump this year. She was just under 7lbs on a Lucky Craft Bevy crank ...

I’m liking the blue lately, so here’s a couple more. First is a Shadow Rap Shad, second is a Flash Minnow 110.
