Fun Evenings Throwing Topwater

I know most people love to throw Topwater, so I wanted to share a couple fun trips that produced some great fish. Made it out for the last hour of daylight Thursday and Friday, and the Topwater bite was incredible on both trips. Landed a few good ones on Thursday, but missed some massive blowups, so...

Re: New Curado 70 mgl K

It appears the reel is actually dark green, instead of charcoal like it appeared in the 45 degree angle picture. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewicast20shimanocuradomgl.html DaveJ To me it looks like the same color as the Curado K 200 It does look green on Shimano’s site, but everywhere else shows ...

Re: 88 Degrees

Our extreme humidity is what's dangerous here. For example, it was 93* yesterday. The heat index pushed the "real feel" to 107*. 90% humidity won't allow sweat to evaporate at all, so the sweat just runs down and soaks your clothing. You literally look like you've been swimming while fully clothed ...

Re: Shimano reel names

I knew there were picky people on here, but wow. Won’t buy a reel because of the name??? Seriously? While I agree that Vanford is a weird name, definitely wouldn’t keep me from buying a reel. Even a name as bad as Tatulion

Re: New Curado 70 mgl K

Personally, I’m glad they didn’t change the frame. Just like they didn’t change the Aldebaran frame when they updated. The 70 frame is very comfortable to palm, and see no reason to change a frame just to add in the new tech.

Re: New Curado 70 mgl K

So if they re-release the Curado I with MM gears as the 2021 Curado K, you will be ok with that? they make it a new version/platform(which the letter shows)so it’s not confusing. If they aren’t selling the previous version anymore, the 70I is no more and the new version with improvements is the K v...

Re: New Curado 70 mgl K

So if they re-release the Curado I with MM gears as the 2021 Curado K, you will be ok with that? I could honestly care less what a company calls something. They could call it the 3030 Curado X and it would make no difference to me. The fact is that when they make changes to a reel, they don’t just ...

Definitely agree. Gets old quick. Even a post about a fun new reel went downhill quickly ](*,)
Issue has been addressed.
Thanks Cal =D> I’m good with hearing about members issues with gear as that’s very important...but wow, some people can go overboard.

Re: New Curado 70 mgl K

Being a big fan of the original 70, I’m looking forward to this iteration. Color is opinion, I happen to like this scheme. I’m happy to see Shimano offering the K in a 70 size with the aforementioned upgrades. It's not a 70 sized K. It's not a new platform. It's the old 70 with MM gears and Curado ...

Re: First experience with japanese round profile BFSish reel: Shimano Calcutta Conquest 51

I really have a problem over shimano lowering quality and reliability for it's newer reels. Fish a Conquest BFS reel, the new Antares or the Met 20's and you'll quit making every post of yours one about your issues with Shimano. ;) Definitely agree. Gets old quick. Even a post about a fun new reel ...

Re: Discontinued Hard Baits

I need to get on the hunt for some Jackall Bling 55's. My stash is dangerously low now. That’s a good one Tim, not much else on the market like it. I still have a few of the original Poe's cedar cranks, too. I only fish them in open water. 8-[ know about that all to well. That’s me with m...

Re: Where are the shimanos?

Got the Yumeya spool in for the little Scorpion. You’re never going to regret that spool Beautiful set up btw. Thanks. I like these little reels and can see why they are so coveted. Any tips on smoothing them out or is that normal for these reels to buzz in your hand when palming and spinning the h...
