Re: Killer Heat rods

I purchased quite a few rods and they were combined in tubes. It saved a little as it came out to about $60 a rod. If you buy them individually it ranges from around $70 to $150, average would be $80 to $100.

Re: Killer Heat rods

That makes sense, it does very much remind me of the leben torque tune I have. But with more basic components like a Fuji real seat instead of a custom one.

Killer Heat rods

Does anyone have info on Killer Heat rods? In a buyee order I got the Killer Heat Excursion KE-C67MLST as a blind buy. It seems to be a similar rod to the Evergreen Stingray 66 on first impression. The build and rod sleeve look just like Designo. I would have thought it was a Designo rod but it is n...

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?

I am going to go another direction and say high end catfish rods. Just because even lower end bass deep cranking or swimbait rods are so much better but catfishermen don't think to try them. Also just because a company in general may have some issues don't be afraid to try their standout models. Eve...

Re: Need a dedicated blade/bladed jig rod (mega/loomis/shim)

I love my Destroyer Javelin for bladed jigs. Can launch them a country mile or roll cast accurately. Has enough give to let them load up but enough power to get a good hookset loading up even on long casts. Extremely versatile rod if you want to use for many other techniques also. I would also highl...

Re: Megabass Black Jungle Power Versatile

I would not recommend the Power Versatile for your intended use. I had one and to me its more an all around swim bait / big bait rod that can handle other duties in a pinch. Its a little overbuilt and heavier rod for bottom contact tip up techniques. To me it doesn't truly come into its own until yo...

Re: What's the most you would pay for a used rod?

I paid around $800 for a used Steez Racing Design Jigga Stick. And have paid in the $500 to $600 range for a few Designo Rods. All from auction in Japan, and no regrets. I use the Designo Rods all the time and absolutely love them.

I use a pair of Maui Jim and Costa but in my opinion the Smith Optics with glass lenses are the very best and what I use the most.

Re: LIN10

I use my LIN10 all the time. I have a SLP works 1010 spool in it which is just excellent for normal bass lures. I have it on a Megabass Javelin.

Also I have the LIN 10 stock spool in a Monoblock which makes for an excellent bigger bait reel with this spool.

Re: JDM Jig rods

The NRX 893 was my first top of the food chain type jig rod and while I loved the sensitivity the soft tip didn't seem to match up right with the backbone. It felt like I had too much backbone or too soft of a tip to match well with any baits and I seemed to loose allot of fish with it. My first rep...

Re: must have megabass rods?

My current favorite MB rod is the Javelin. So much so that I could not resist and bought two more since the prices were so good :D Regards, Doc Funny that you mention the Javelin. I remember researching a couple of years ago about which MB rod was most similar to my Nautilus mentioned above. The co...

Re: Pixy Secret

Another combination along this line that works fantastic I use is a ZPI CP-301 spool in a PX-Type R. Not ultra finesse but a fantastic all around lighter to medium weight casting setup. I use this as my primary all around cranking setup and love it.

When do you use foiled crankbaits?

Ive noticed allot of the custom balsa crankbaits have very nice foil finishes. When do you prefer using a foiled bait? Is it just when the sun is out or is there more to it than that? Can't seem to find much about this subject anywhere.

Re: Dream baitcaster

I have a few that to me are absolutely perfect in their configuration.

LIN 10 with SLP works 1010 spool
Steez SV TWS with KTF NEO spool
Megabass IS 71 with ZPI PG Spool
PX Type R with ZPI CP-301 spool
TDZ R+, Personal Order & Ito reels with upgraded drags & handles and NEO or PG spools
