2020 Twin Power Spool

Doesn't seem to be much interest about Twin Powers in the "Reels" forum so I'll ask my question here. Will the new 2020 Twin Power 3000 spool drop into the 2020 Twin Power 2500 without any modifications? Also, is there really any real-time reduction in line twist when going to the larger spool, or i...

Re: Bantam1 Question about QC under Corona Virus

Thanks for the information. I'll not cancel the backordered 2020 Metanium and hope for the best.

A word to everyone; be safe, and remember those who are working and caring for the affected during these trying times.

Bantam1 Question about QC under Corona Virus

Hi Bantam1; Recently received a new 2020 Twin Power 2500 and it is really smooth, noticeably more than my sustain. That's the good news. I also ordered a 2020 Metanium 151B (yea, I'm switching to a lefty :) ) and because of the Corona Virus it has been backordered and the ETA has changed from May 05...

Re: 2020 Shimano Twin Power FD

I don't understand how so many different versions of higher-end models and multiples of each can have the same problem. Did you try any of the Twin Tower 2500FD models for the noise/roughness? Is there another store that has the same models so you can check for the issue? I went back and played with...

Re: 2020 Shimano Twin Power FD

Sorry to hear you are having problems with your new Twin Power. Even though I haven't hit the water with mine yet, I did spool the line and played with it in the backyard by attaching a washer and casting and reeling many times... I really like how it feels. It is the same as it was out of the box, ...

Re: 2020 Shimano Twin Power FD

I'm also interested in what others opinion are who have used one on the water. I received my 2020 Twin Power 2500FD a week ago, but haven't used it on the water yet... trying to follow the national/state self-isolation guidelines. Also waiting on a preordered 2020 Metanium 150 HGB that's on backorde...

Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods

I have the 842 and 843, and the 842 throws 1/4 ounce baits far better than the 843....i don't pull out the 843 until I get to 1/2 ounce. Thanks for the information, just to be clear, your 842 and 843 is the Conquest models and not NRX? I have the NRX 842C and have relegated it to pond fishing for b...

Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods

Hey guys, I'm thinking about upgrading from NRX to Conquest. Ideally, I would like to have a rod with the power between my NRX 852C JWR and NRX 843C MBR, I also have the NRX 842C MBR but it's just too wimpy in both tip and backbone power. After reading this thread it sounds like the Conquest 842C mi...

Re: Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon XL Professional Grade

A wise man once said, "People from your own town don't respect you". They like foreign products more around here, it's more exotic I guess. I wouldn't say it is purely for exotic, but the domestic are 90% made in China. I haven't looked at other domestic lines, but on the back of the Trilene 100% F...

Re: Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon XL Professional Grade

I believe I fished 25lb for flipping a couple of years ago and didn't like how it fluffed up on the spool. But that was after using braid for years. I am full time flouro now for all but punching. I should try it again and see if it was just my learning curve with managing flouro. :?: ??? You must ...
